The Uniqlo Thread - Page 552

So I got a Uniqlo gift card a couple of years ago, but haven't been to New York since. Was pretty excited when they started the online shop, but of course they don't allow gift card purchases online or on the phone, only in the store. Not sure I'll be heading back to NYC anytime soon, so if any locals want to buy it, PM me about it. Here's the link I posted from the marketplace forum:

Are these $20 polo shirts any good?

Lots of colors, but how's the quality, fit?

Are you asking about the size of the collar or the weight and amount of structure? The size is the roughly the same and is aligned with the general proportions of the rest of the pattern (cuffs, placket, etc). Along with the overall fit and price, this is the appeal of these shirts for me. The fabric is touch lighter than the fall slim fits and neither collar is fused (lined with shit to make it stand up) so they aren't going to hold shape forever but that's desired in a button down collar to allow for some roll. Plus the buttons hold it in place anyhow.

Finally got a chance to see the overdye oxfords in person (34th St has a ton); insane for the price.  Surprisingly rich dye job.

Premium tees do feel a bit different, as mentioned above, which is a shame, because they're by far my favorite item Uniqlo puts out regularly.  I picked up a package of the 2/$13 "underwear" tees which will hopefully be a decent alternative.

Just got some Airism shirts and a linen shirt in the mail.  Airism = Underarmour but I like it as a lounge shirt.  An XS in the linen shirt is the same measurements as a M regular oxford, so it's going back.

I have bought a few items from Uniqlo recently and am very pleased with their quality ( for the money ) but what really annoys me is how quickly they take the range off the sales floor, I have been searching for their 3 button herringbone blazer, went to most shops in London and all said the same, its a winter item and removed from sale.

HELP does anybody know where they send their winter range, have you seen an XL anywhere for sale, this is the one.

Agreed even more on the jackets. I still have this Blouson (basically an MA-1 with a collar) from FW11; it's fantastic:

You are correct. Wait until Fall rolls around; I have to say Uniqlo S/S collections are usually disappointing.

I always saw them on sale for $15 a year ago. I was thinking of copping them and flipping them, but got lazy. and yes, those are awesome beaters. New Uniqlo jackets are meh

Just left 34th st store, those oxfords are way too long. Easy pass.

My favorite item was this linen/cotton blazer fit great in the length & waist, sleeves need slimming. only $70

I am about to cop this blazer based on your rec.  I can't tell if I should choose Medium or Large though; I'm 41 inch chest, 185 pounds.   The shoulder width of the Large blazer seems to fit me, but the P2P is a bit wider than I prefer based on a comparison with another shirt I slimmed a bit (23 inch P2P).  But I'm thinking outerwear should be generally more oversized compared to shirting, no?

in general my outerwear specs are smaller than my shirting (P2P)

I'm 5'9, 180 lbs & Medium was perfect on the shoulders and body (layed right against my ribs, not snug) , sleeves were an inch & definitely could use a tailor's slimming. Linen & Cotton is the perfect blend, not too shiny or wrinkled like 100% Linen and more flexibility & breath-ability than a 100% cotton.
