The Uniqlo Thread - Page 26

so has anyone emailed about the decrease in construction and quality? How it undermines their philosophy and integrity, etc. I would be pretty beat if I went out of my way for some corduroy shirts just to find out they feel like garbage now.

^ Like I said before, it was just a matter of time, ya know? I've tried on the corduroy shirts (which are not in-store anymore, if I saw correctly), and they're not as great as they were last year/the year before. Quality has definitely gone down overall, but you can count me in for some of their flannels ($20 on sale) and oxfords.

i agree. it was only a matter of time. i really wanted to pick up their wester style shirts but they were way too thin for the price. i also wanted to cop some flannels but they were also thin. not to mention the colors and patterns were down right cheesy, like a cross between clown and lumberjack.

cord shirts are gone. they were on my list. maybe not having an online store is not such a bad thing, amarite??

i hope

This past fall/winter collection i picked up a 4-way down parka with removable hood...gotta say, for the $150 I paid, it's a great great jacket.

The increase in prices is easy to understand, since the US$ is worthless, good for you guys, but great for me, since AU$ is worth more than the greenback Can't comment on the quality, since the only Uniqlo things I got where last year in Japan.

No doubt about it. When they first introduced UJ denim (in F/W 2009, I believe), I snagged a pair of dark grey S-001, and they fit divinely. I added a pair of black S-001 (RIP / fuck you, crotch rip) and a more current dark grey T-000, which is my ideally fitting and most worn denim. It's a shame that the quality of the UJ is getting worse with each season, but the fit is still there. If you don't mind the paper-thinness of the S/S 2010 denim in-stock now, go ahead. For $30-$40 beaters, you can't go wrong.

I think the decline in quality is due to recent cotton supply problems affecting China, Pakistan, India and the U.S. Unless they raise the current retail price, the thinness will get thinner.

The +J stuff thats left is really mostly crap. All the good stuff has been picked over.

So no one can proxy any of the heattech items (given that they are avaiable?) Online email ordering is closed I presume (Dec. 24th). Can i do phone orders via NY site then?

how is the sizing on uniqlo shirts, if I am a Medium in J Crew will their mediums fit the same?

Interesting to hear people's thoughts about a drop off in quality. I just got back from Singapore where I had my most productive Uniqlo shopping trip yet. And there was so much more I wanted to buy, but had to stop myself! I found a lot of better stuff than my previous 2 trips there.

Edit: In case you were wondering, no I don't fly to Singapore just to visit Uniqlo :-P

Also, anyone have experience with the mid-gauge cashmere sweaters? Worth it at $150?

Uniqlo has a sale on mostly everything cashmere once every 2 weeks/a month. Watch that $150 drop to $80~90.

I'd personally stay away until said sale comes.
