How's the MA-1 fit? for a size 39 chest (I', a L in the EFM cardigans and M on the easy case dress shirts). Am I a M or L? For a slim to reg. fit.

dbear, please let me know if you see matching grey or navy suit combos in xs/28/29. I only get to be around downtown twice a week, so I can't check as often. I just ordered the dark grey wool jacket with the two available grey wool pants since there's no color code like on the foreign websites to know if they actually match(and the fact that the colors are sometimes off doesn't help). I hope one of them match, as I might start a job that requires suits

ma-1 is just like a single layer of polyester. more of a shell than a jacket, with plastic zips. not worth it imo.

Long awaited return to Uniqlo was alright.

Got the premium down hooded UU in black (same material as the ultra light I guess), 3 EFM sweaters in Navy, Wine, and Charcoal, a pair of black T-000 (for fashunz purposes), and some socks.

Still looking for some heattech Long Johns in black, and really want some of those soft touch t-shirts but not in a ******* turtleneck or half turtleneck. They have some good patterns and I've been wanting to pick up some long sleeve t-shirts for a while. Will pick up a few more of those Tasmanian wool pants to when I get a chance too because they are great value and I won't get butthurt if I tear them or get some bike grease on them for when I bike to work (vs biking in my Epaulets). Might also pick up that thicker down UU jacket in green if I can find it in a large, but I think I may just save that money towards getting a better technical jacket from Arcteryx or something.

And also not Uniqlo, but I finally found a blackwatch shirt from Muji. Woohoo.

I've been on styleforum for a while but most of my clothes are still plebe stuff from Uniqlo. I only spend money on things where either 1. spending less on a lesser product is horrible value 2. I actually get a **** ton of use out of it, so I've only really spent money on shoes and denim.

Although I won't lie... When my APCs blowout and turn kind of unwearable, I might just stick with Uniqlo T-000 denim. They are pretty much the perfect skinny jean for me when sized up because they have the perfect amount of taper, fit very comfortable in the waist and my crotch area, stack and cuff well, are readily available and are at an affordable price. I just feel like I'm betraying raw denim because that was the sole reason I discovered a place like SF and became more stylistically inclined.

Might also pick up some of those EFM cardigans... But I don't know because I don't really wear cardigans that much. Usually have to pick out a more 'elegant' T if I decide to go that route, or wear a button down, but my casual shirt collection is pretty weak outside of my 2 Brooks Brothers ESF Oxfords... But then again... at $30...

And I don't understand the rage for the flannels. I got one back in 08 and it's one of my most worn shirts. The new flannels are just way more thin and flimsy, and none of the patterns are particular good.

Yea, also the fit is sorta wack. It seems they continue to shrink it the wash and might look better with a bunch of wear. For $20 it's a good item to just throw on or wear underneath a good outterwear. I think I'm done with Uniqlo outtwear for awhile, I'd rather spend the extra $$ for some real zippers and nice buttons.

If anyone cares the new chambray shirt is awesome. The fit is different on it than their other shirts, slimmer in the arms and not super long. It also has cool cuffs that stop short.

^ Agreed, just wish XS wasn't so tight.

MA-1 is horrendous. Stay away. For $60, you can get the Blouson they have up.

I still have the MA-1 from FW2011; nice waxed cotton.

Wait, so I'm in this exact situation right now and it's exactly what I've been considering. My black APC NS just blew out in the crotch and I'm not sure if they're worth repairing or whether I should just buy a pair of T-000s. So if I'm a 30 in NS (sized down 2 from normal size), I'd get a 33 in T-000 (size up 1)? How's the quality/fit comparison as well. I hate to be one of those guys asking this ****, but I'm strongly considering "downgrading", though tbh based on the handful of APC items I own, they seem to be more or less on par in terms of quality with Uniqlo things (IMO). TIA.

I've heard great things about Uniqlo's OCBDs and I want to give them a try. I've been trying to get them in my size but for the past month they've been out of size small in white and gray. Has their website always been this difficult?

Yes, they're awful at restocking. Their stores are always stocked well so if you can reach one of them, I would do that.
