and no, i don't think the same can be said for most styles, because there are aesthetic principles behind most styles, whereas kid cudi's style seems to be driven by designs that maximally suggest wealth through branding (eg, BBC) or ironic throwbacks

You should just say you dont like it. But admit there is always a market for this sort of style. I hate gothic attire but alot of people love it but i dont criticize them for loving it and blame there liking to the style on admiring lady gaga. Because variety is the basis of fashion and I love fashion as a whole for than I love just one particular style.

i'll admit that there's a market for kid cudi's style. unfortunately, there probably isn't a market for lavish train, unless it gets the backing of a famous pop star

also, there's a huge difference b/w lady gaga's style and kid cudi's. i'd say that 80% of the time lady gaga wears things that are visually stimulating whereas 80% of the time cudi wears things that are loudly referencing the brand name

Also try reading the message behind this brand aswell. And in starting out a brand, you have to first get people to recognize the brand logo and since you mentioned principles of design you should know that the key way to market a brand is through brand recognition. The design on the shirt seem to be the same as the logo, and if you know anything about creating a logo its not effective if its not simple and easy to recognize.

You are right about Lady Gaga her attire is visually stimulating you cant help but to look at her, and the current design of Lavish Train normally only gets big with the backing of a famous person, but I see a huge market for the message behind the brand, and I think if the message is portrayed effectively then I see this brand getting pretty big. and now that I think about it, the message adds alot of value to the design and makes it appealing to me.

There are 2 'prints' available in the entire 'collection' and they both look like a 9-year old could draw it

Girls would rather fuck a kid cudi than a goth ninja/nomad.

I like meaningful and simplistic design, and to actually know what I'm wearing. I think a simplistic logo design is an excellent way to build brand recognition.
