Undershirt for a Brioni Shirt?

I have a nice luxery dress shirt. Should I wear an undershirt? If so, what kind? Any shirt or should I wear something similar?

Wife beater.

V-neck. Beaters are useless at preventing pit stains.

This. Seems like common sense to me, but...

Pit stains are the sign of a true male.

since your shirt is so nice invest in a quality undershirt and boxers. Can you imagine someone wearing hanes whitie tighties under their brioni slacks, ugh. Does Zegna make undershirts?

I think I might. Although do I really need to wear an undershirt? I find it so collegiate and frat-boyish. Found good luxery undershirt and underwear... So no dry cleaning just wash it myself?

Wash at 30 degrees, hang to dry and iron with plenty of steam. Never use 60+ degree water and certainly don't tumble dry.

The under shirt is personal preference.

Pros
- No pit stains on the shirt
- You can wear it twice before washing
- Should you need to change (due to spills at lunch or just boredom) your secretary wont look at your hairy nipples

Cons
- Extra layer = extra heat and more sweat
- Can't be worn open-collar
- Don't get the feel that lux fabric on your skin
- More washing/Ironing

In a hot clime like Texas, a good cotton tee shirt provides a layer to absorb some of the perspiration. There is no need to iron tee shirts. Put them on a hanger and do a "gravity press" (let gravity get the wrinkles out over a day or two. Yeah, its lazy, but it works reasonably well). A V-neck can be worn open collar if the V is low enough and the dress shirt is not super thin cotton.

Just my $0.02.
