Will there be posts for shirts and pants in the future?

Connecting Sellers & Buyers the Right Way Update 1: 6/2/2011
Since the preliminary stage was very well received, I decided to keep this and develop it as a permanent tool. What's the plan for the next stage? Many things. But they all focus on the following central objectives: - Better search: search will be in more detail (number of buttons, color, materials, tag size, etc., for suits; measurement, color, etc., for shoes). - Better result: Preview pictures will be supported (this will cost a lot of bandwidth, so I will start it with thumbnail only and see how it works out. - More categories: In the near future, we will have pants/shirts/jeans. - To work well with the new B&S system Donation I initially developed this site thinking that it would be a nice/fun thing to do for B&S. And I kind of dodged all suggestion for donation (though I do really appreciate the gestures). One reason is that I can't take money from people without knowing how well the site works for them, whether or not it will be a long term thing, etc.. But now since I have a better idea for the site (especially after talking to LA Guy), and since development is taking off, I think it's fine to accept some donations. I am strong believer of transparency and acknowledgement, especially when one provides some kinds of service (and taking contribution from other). So I will put the amount of donation and the name (or SF-name, or Anonymous if prefered) of the donor in a public page, and will try to publish how that money is spent. To access to the donation page, please go here: http://www.fitisking.com/about/contribution.php Again all questions and suggestions are strongly encouraged. For those who did make suggestions, but I haven't responded: I don't ignore them, I actually do copy them down into a note, and look at them from time to time. Sometimes I can respond to it right away, sometimes I can't, but rest assure, I do take them seriously. Thanks all for your support

Fit is King is Alpha as Fuck!

I would also suggest adding flat front, single and double pleats pants to the suit search criteria.

I am blown away. Money incoming.

They solve many current problem in B&S, however, a couple of crucial things cannot easily be done/fixed (brands, fits), and that's exactly what FITisKING aims to solve. So there is little to no redundancy at the current stage. In short, this will be a long term thing, I will make sure that it works smoothly with the new B&S. On the impact of FITisKING to B&S: Through the data collected during the first 2 days, I can tell you that it put A LOT of quality traffic to SF (by several thousands of high quality clicks). So yeah, I definitely see this has a good impact to B&S. Sellers may not obviously see it yet, but it's there. (so yes, list your stuff) On the impact of FITisKING to SF revenue: The majority of revenue for B&S right now is through the stickied fee, those who have large enough inventory would still prefer doing so. So I see the site as putting more high quality traffic to SF (good) without hurting its revenue (good). PS: RSS feature is added yesterday already.
We are clearly dealing with a man who has his shit together. Count me as a fan.

Yes, Onix, is clearly a man with a plan!

Donated. I highly encourage others to do the same thing. It takes a lot of work and effort to put something of this caliber together. Buyers, as well as sellers, will benefit and take advantage of this. So let's all show Onix a token of appreciation.

I think that, in order for fitisking.com to become the default way we search through B&S, it would be great if the administrators placed an image link to fitisking.com on top of B&S, like we have for the red cross now. An image link is more prominent than the currently stickied thread, and carries a de facto monetary value.

Really amazing thing that onix has done. Onix, this can easily be replicated for other fora. This would be a boon to clothing/handbag fora for women, etc. All of those fora use the same clumsy system of posting shit in threads rather than consolidating like this. Seriously, this is an awesome idea that can be monetized (above and beyond donations you receive).
Yes, I think that's a great idea. In fact, monetisation could come by: 1. Writing a robust, clean, complete service for SF's B&S. 2. Offering to replicate the service for other clothing fora, with some amount of customisation allowed to each forum, i.e. the colours, the shape of the buttons, number of results, for what parameters you'd be parsing the results, etc. 3. Charging a fee to each participating forum to maintain the (proprietary) code on your servers, and to improve it. This is how Stackexchange makes money. Other than the clean, functional, fast interface, one thing Stackexchange does really well is show up high on Google searches, i.e. they have optimised their code for Google's crawlers.

One last comment: women's clothes have inconsistent sizes, which vary across brands and time; so, the women's version of SF's B&S, if there is such a thing, would benefit from a website like fitisking.com more than SF's B&S!

Wow, this is awesome! I just searched suits/sportcoats by shoulder width and BAM!... 7 results.

Probably been mentioned already, but does a seller need to upload their images and post to both FIK and SF or just FIK? How do the images show up on both sites? Sorry for IT noob questions or if I missed the directions.

The sellers do have to manually list their stuff on FiK. A good thing is that listing thing to FiK is very easy as reported my many other members. When I listed people's stuff, it takes me around 15-20 seconds for each listing.

Definitely agree with this - the one example that easily comes to mind is the Timezone Sales Corner, which is really a mess.
