Going to visit a friend that lives in Tampa this Saturday. Anything good to do during the day or at night? Good places to go? We're both 21+.

I like Central Avenue Oyster Bar in St. Pete. Downtown St Pete is pretty lively. Can't help on Tampa.

During the day, there's Ybor City if you like history, specifically the history of the large Cuban population that settled in the area decades ago. You can also get a pretty good meal of Cuban food at the Columbia in Ybor, though La Teresita on West Columbus is better (and worth the trip).

At night, Ybor is also the place if you like bars, clubs, etc. Channelside is another club/bar area. I can't recommend which clubs are best, as I'm not in the area anymore, and all the friends I have down there aren't really into the club scene anymore.

Tampa's also known for it's strip clubs, which are on Dale Mabry. Mons Venus is regarded as one of the best, if you're into that.

Bern's is an awesome place for a steak dinner. In fact, if I were in Tampa and looking to plan meals out, I'd hit La Teresita for lunch and Bern's for dinner.

All of the above said, I agree with the poster above - St. Pete is where I'd head if I were looking for fun in the Tampa Bay area.

Ybor, Bush Gardens, or bust. Personally, I'd have him meet you somewhere other than Tampa.

St Pete: The Moon Under Water (lunch)

Tampa:

Bern's is a must. Make a reservation if you can. Go early. Stay late in the dessert room. Ask for James. Tell him a friend who used to be in Tampa but now in Birmingham says hi. He'll take good care of you.

Paci's for pizza.

Byblos if you like Lebanese.

Yummy House for Chinese.

Awesome breakfast - Daily Eats

Cuban/Spanish - The Columbia

Old Northeast in International Plaza if you are shopping for watches (ask for Carlos)

Night life on the weekend - Ybor City (stay on 7th - not safe if you wander off...)
Night Life during the week - Channelside

Cigars - Edwards (Kennedy & Henderson) or Metropolitan (in Ybor, partly owned by the Fuente family)
