I've bought my last... - Page 3

Aldens- Their constant lack of quality control scares me away from a new pair.

Outerwear, gloves, scarves, caps, and other winter gear- I have too much that I never wear. In California winter gear goes on such deep discount, it is hard to resist.

Few last ever:

Bruno Magli shoes - far too flimsy.

Hermes Belt - I paid way too much money for a stupid H belt. Leather was decent quality, but I know where to get similar quality leather belts for half the price. I get a jeweler to make my buckles from now on.

Expensive Cashmere sweaters - I have a few by Cucinelli, and after 3 drycleans they feel like cheap crap. Not buying high dollar sweaters or vests again that require too much TLC.

Trendy jeans. I ripped one too many pair of Sevens and now I find myself looking past them for chinos 95% of the time.

17" neck, or generally anything >42. I am in the fortunate position now to have a stable of shirts and suits that fit me really really well, and in the unfortunate position to have a much bigger stable of shirts and suits that are much too big for me. I feel a closet cleaning coming on...

Shell cordovan shoes. I still like them, but I can get what I have refurbished, if needed. No sense in buying more.

Already came up. See below. I have 2 pairs personally and quite like them.

I'm wearing my last pair of stone-colored Mabitex. They work only because they are chinos and I more or less throw them on with a super casual look and it somehow seems better with a tapered chino. The material must have some elastane or something in it, though, because my testicles are fine. The chinos are not long for this earth, though, because they are starting to get destroyed. Definitely don't want any more Daffy's sloppy seconds.

My last navy linen trousers...

Joe Bank's tie. I used to graze there monthly for deals, but it's not worth the effort. Ties from their so-called "Executive Collection" fall apart in your hands like East German toilet paper.
