Guys night out in Vancouver

Got one afternoon / night in Vancouver with a couple of old grad school buddies and looking for a bit of a pub crawl and dinner.

Looking for recommendations for;

Sunday afternoon bars
Bars for beer drinkers
Good burger joint (must serve beer)
A great steak (doesnt have to be the typical leather booths and brass rails, just a great steak)

We'll be staying downtown and with only one night would prefer to mostly stick to the neighborhood.

Thanks in advance,

K

+1. He's like roaches. You never know when you'll see him again and he's impossible to get rid of.

Check-out Yaletown brewery for drinks and then Glowbal/Afterglow for steak and a nice bar. These are in (duh) Yaletown, which is not too far of a jaunt from downtown.

edit: Steamworks is another brewpub right downtown which is always busy although watch for cougars...

I'm going to piggy back this :

What nightclub would be best for people who have never been to one before? I have some friends coming in from the states, and want me to take them out.

Is the Roxy really worth the hype? I can't remember much of the first time I went, and last time I went it was because there was a concert there.

Any other suggestions?

I spent 2 months in Vancouver and found it to have nightlife on a par with a medium sized English city. In fact, Leicester probably has better nightlife than Vancouver.

Sunday Afternoon Bars: +1 Yaletown Brewing Co is a good bet, lotsa eye candy in Yaletown on a sunny weekend, hang out on the patio.

Beer Drinkers: Irish Heather in Gastown I like for their beer selection; also has a huge whiskey list.

Steak: Gotham's is the typical recommendation for a high end steak house in Vancouver.

Restrictive liquor laws don't help.

I'd re-calibrate your considerations since the Canucks are in the Stanley Cup Finals. I'm guessing pretty much any place in BC will be fun. Actually, I'm guessing anywhere in Canada or Boston will be fun the next week.
