Help! Rust stains on favourite blue and white striped linen shirt.

I unfortunately got some rust staining on the sleeve of my favourite striped linen shirt. I have soaked it in detergent and warm water for 48 hours, but the stain hasn't lifted. Has anybody any suggestions on how to remove an orange rust stain on a blue and white shirt? I have tried a search here, but there is no mention of rust stains.

The best rust remover is hydrofluoric acid. Use with q-tip and immerse in cold water immediately afterwards. You should be able to use this in a home environment on machine washable cottons and linens without a problem. I'm not sure where you buy this product as it is a specialized product your'e more likely to find in a dry cleaner. Alternatively, take it to an above average dry cleaner. Any dry cleaner who charges "decent" prices (let's say $15+ for a man's 2 piece suit) should be able to handle your problem with ease.
