I'll concur with the eat a greasy meal before (or at least never drink on an empty stomach) and stay hydrated while drinking (ie. a glass of water for every 2 drinks after the 4th or 5th drink). Water and food before you retire will help and, if you can, sleep it off.

To take care of hang over immediately all you need is a glass of beer in the morning or 50ml shot of Vodka.
That makes your liver work again and your morning sickness goes away in 20 minutes or less.

I've always found relief by consuming a lot of water and a large, particularly greasy burrito. Dunno why; its just works for me.

As to the water drinking during one's imbibement: aren't you simply filling your gullet, and thus reducing the amount of alcohol one can consume?

Reducing the amount of alcohol consumed will also lighten the hangover

but because many hangover symptoms are related to the dehydration that comes with drinking, knocking a water chaser back with your drinks can help over the course of the evening.

I never mixed it with 7-up but I'd always pickup a bottle of Pedialyte on the way to work the next morning. I think it helped, if nothing else but being pscyhosomatic.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it, but antihistimines work every time. They make you sleepy as well, but they'll totally kill the hangover. Something like Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold Medicine. Make sure to NOT use the non-drowsy formula as those have no antihistimines. Or just pop a Benadryl.

Not in an effort to brag, but I pretty much never get hungover. Even when I'm blackout drunk. I don't know why (is there medical reasoning behind this, anyone?).

The two times I have really felt it the next day I just ate a big hearty breakfast and hit the hay for a couple hours. Worked like a charm.

Water and salty food before bed is the best remedy (IMO) to prevent a forthcoming hangover.

Yeah... that's the worst thing you can do. Drink a Lemonade can of concentrate...seriously.

We're real men? No seriously, I don't know but I have that same 'ability'. I guess the obvious answer is that some people have a higher tolerance. I've drank enough to kill two men in a night and woken up the next day with no ill effect. Beats me the heck why and it only means higher tabs the night before.
