Back from the dead.

For a school project, Alexis Gallo, a student at NYC’s Fashion Institute of Technology, created a wacky typeface that is modelled on Jell-O and inspired by one of Salvador Dali’s most iconic artworks.
The idea for the “Form” typeface came from Dali’s famous melting clocks in The Persistence of Memory—based on the Futura font, Gallo crafted the letters out of Jell-O to achieve the “floppy and unstable” quality she desired.

“Form references the consistent flux of time with a playful spin. The letters feel inconsistent and have a gravitational pull that appears uncontrollable and unstable. Each letter has a melting quality that gives the impression that they will slip off the baseline.”

Stanislas Giroux’s out-of-focus fireworks look like something out of a dream sequence. Inspired by “old-school filmy light trails that occurred on old non-CCD cameras when a bright light spot was filmed”, he tinkered with the focus ring of his camera while shooting fireworks with a tripod to achieve the ‘bokeh’ effect. The result is glowing lights that swim in and out of focus in an ethereal light-show.

This seems relevant to this thread. I really wish I had done this.

Someone created a shot-for-shot parody of one of my brand videos for Best Made Co. I have no idea who did this, but I have suspicions. (The Spanish Inquisition.)

Creative agency Mother London invited ladies to have their bushes anonymously photographed for ‘Project Bush’, which aims to spark debate about waxing and its impact on modern feminism.

92 women turned up to bare all—to demonstrate the choices they make when it comes to waxing or not, and that there is no one type of lady garden in the world.

Taken by photographer Alisa Connan, the pictures of the lady bushes would be displayed at the agency’s Shoreditch headquarters.

You can always get a Jonathan Yeo leaf study, which looks like pretty leaves until you take a closer look...

That doesn't fit into the rigid austerity that i prefer, but I appreciate the sentiment.

Nothing like turning an annoyance that should last 30 seconds into several minutes of ear and eye grinding pain.

Exactly what my wife said.

I don't think it was designed to be played on planes as much as it was to get VA attention on youtube.

Stop, created by choreographer Susan Marshall, is a music video featuring an original score by Pulitzer prize-winning composer David Lang, played by members of the electric guitar quartet Dither and Mantra Percussion. Stop is a virtual companion piece to Susan Marshall & Company's new dance performance Play/Pause, which will tour the US this fall. Stop references the dance moves and sleek production value of popular music videos, but introduces abstraction by adding choreographic complexity, and stripping away context to make the dancers' movements the primary element.
