Casino Royale style...

I feel it's appropriate here since I haven't seen any other threads about it... What did you think of the wardrobe of Daniel Craig? I liked it apart from the short-sleeved shirt. (Which he wore with a suit. Tsk tsk.) That peak lapel suit didn't get near enough screen time for my liking, but it looked cool from what I saw. The dinner suit was classic and well fitted (impossibly so however, considering how he got it...) and the charcoal and navy suits were well cut and looked nice. The navy one being three piece was a great touch, and also should have gotten more screen time. I was disappointed at no turnback cuffs, since Turnbull & Asser are apparently doing Bond's shirts again. That's okay though, however much I miss them. He had double cuffs, and that's what counts. Did Brioni do the suits again? They seemed more English with the two button (three-roll-two?) styles and cuts. I think he may have even been wearing flat fronts, which is definitely a rarity for Italian suits from what I understand. Thoughts? Flames? Thrown pistols?

The suits are 100% Brioni.

Sure it may not look like the Brioni RTW; but the way the shoulders were, yes sir, a Brioni.


You would see more drape if it was a Kiton suit, yes?

Sadly, the peaked light gray suit didn't get much screen time.

When he changed dinner jackets was there any difference? The second one was on screen less and i was distracted by Vesper.

Some of the casual wear was a little jarring but a nice update coinciding with other changes.

He didn't change his jackets... if he did it was identical to the first one, just like his change of shirt.

I'm surprised that the Brionis looked that good. They're definitely an improvement over Brosnan's... which were ALWAYS the same three button, double pleated trouser style with just a change in colour.

The lack of a vest/cummerbund and shirt studs when he was in his DJ, is actually my biggest criticism of the film.

I don't recall any Bond wearing a vest/cummerbund but, I stand to be corrected.

In Tomorrow Never Dies. Yes, I do recall that now. But, definately not is TWINE. I can't remember GE. But, I never recall Connery wearing one.

What a great movie, right! My friends and I were all a bit high for a while after we left the theater.

The suits all looked great to me. I didn't like the short sleeved shirt as first either, but he was at a beach club - it suited the occasion. My fravorite was the three piece blue suit at the end.

As to the tailored dinner jacket, my buddy thought it was cool the way Vesper sized him up and had the jacket tailored from memory. I had to let my friend know that a master tailor wouldn't even be able to do as much, let alone an accountant with good taste.

I want to know where to find all the clothes he wore in this movie! The blue polo shirt, the white epaulette shirt, and his TUX was friggen cool. The shirt was an amazing color and shine, the weave was very high quality, and there was a placket hiding the buttons. I want that tux! haha

Well, even though I was not a big fan of those particular suits, the idea of dressing bond in the same thing over and over while only changing the color is, well, correct. That was the basic idea in the books anyway. I guess the costumes were ok. I thought the movie stunk and that Craig was the worst Bond in history. He is a terrific actor and was great in Munich, but he is no more correct for James Bond than is Whoopee Goldberg.

I do recall when I read the books as a youngster that Fleming was always banging on about Bond's "thick comma of curly black hair", which he shows clearly in the drawing Soph posted.

I don't think that Hollywood ever got Bond's look true to the books, especially not with the likes of Roger Moore.
