Anyone have a burnt orange tie from David? I found several on the website but I can tell much by the pics. Anyone have a pic of their burnt orange tie?

I've already decided on a bitter chocolate grenadine garza grossa tie and need another that goes well with navy, brown and eggplant. I saw a gentleman the other day on the subway wearing a burnt orange tie with an eggplant stripe shirt with brown pants and it looked very sharp. Very fall!!

Many thanks!!

Here are my first ties from David. They came in the mail today and I couldn't be more pleased.

SamHoberTies-1.jpg

From left to right: Powder Blue and Forest Green Linen (3 fold), Dark Sienna Grenadine (4 fold), Macclesfield Silk (6 fold), Brown Cashmere (3 fold). All are untipped with rolled edges.

Everything they say about doing business from Sam Hober is true. Excellent product and courteous service. :nodding:

Thanks David!

I like the forest green linen but it seems kind of weird to have a fall color made from a summer fabric. Or can linen be used all year when referring to ties?

For me personally it is about texture and contrast, especially when it comes to ties. I wish you could see the depth of color in this linen. The green especially is amazing and I think the color alone would make it an appropriate accent for any number of cloths. I hope to pair it with a tweed jacket and shiny cotton shirt this fall. The lighting this evening was bad so I will try to get a better shot of the tie tomorrow.

Sony58,
Thank you for your kind words and the photos.

Cuttingboard,

Seasonal fabrics are like bow ties - they can be very elegant at any time - if you are comfortable wearing them. Also our English linen ties have 24% silk which adds to their seasonal versatility.
Personally, I follow my feelings and I am happy to wear linen or summer colors in the depth of winter as it will often cheer me up when it is snowing. And I wear "winter" colors in the summer for a nice serious look. For example I live in Thailand where it basically is always summer (from a Western perspective) and I am very comfortable with dark colors and wool/cashmere etc...
So what I am saying is that I match my clothes to my feelings not the environment.
I do not follow clothing rules except for formal occasions when culture dictates - weddings, funerals etc.

David, your linen is stunning! It is hard to capture the true quality of your product and I am an amateur when it comes to photography so I apoligize for any problems with the photos.

Thanks David and Sonny58, I appreciate your thoughts. I was curious because I also need a hunter green tie to go with a several tweed jackets.

Burnt ornage is almost coppery IRL: 1st tie on the left in the crappy photo; a reppe courtesy of David.

My fav is the last one: Burgundy Grenadine Garza Grossa, fourfold and untipped.

Got the same forest green linen, and I agree, the texture and vibrancy of colour is out of this world.

^ That would look nice with a (light) navy suit and a white shirt...
