A Sam (and David) Hober Tie Appreciation Thread - Page 55

My two ties from Sam Hober. I splurged a bit on these and tend to shy away from wearing them, just because I don't want to mess them up (I usually wear ties in an environment that is prone to ruining ties)..they are damn sharp, though. Sorry for the not so great photo quality. From my android and I really should be studying right now, so trying to make it quick. Wish I could afford to buy more of them.

I think that has to do with camera quality and lighting. His is outdoors in natural sunlight and with what appears to be a dSLR.

That and post-processing. The first photo has the contrast dialled up, the second looks like it has been dialled down (which is kinda weird...)

So that means that his pic ought to me more true-to-life than mine, right? But, in fact, mine is very color-accurate. When I hold my tie up to my monitor, it matches my pic, which is to say the color is more of a grassy yellow-green than the rich forest green of sochumpy's pic. I'd guess that either he has altered the hues in his pic pretty dramatically or that David has found a new source for green cashmere.

Not quite. I'm not by any means a photog expert, but tobiasj's post above yours is basically what I will say. In certain lights and with certain touch-ups the green will look more... green. You're standing in a room, i'm guessing with fluorescent lights, on a p&s camera and did no after-effects.

Yes i would say it's more the photography (amazing wedding photographer I won a package from, https://www.facebook.com/#!/sydney.wedding.photographer ). IRL my tie seems a lot greener than yours tho Threadbearer.

So, it's the weekend, and I took some better pics of my Hober ties. Love the ties. Looking forward to collecting a few more in the future.

(was going to provide a link to this one on the Hober site, but I'm not finding it. Maybe it's sold out)
