I do not know if Dunhill or Ralph Lauren have a tie remaking service but you can try contacting them.
You can email me if you like - although we do not like working on other tie makers ties.

I didn't think so...will have to send to tie crafters.

No kidding! I've been waiting for a midnight navy bow in garza fina for about 18 months. I've been putting off ordering the tux (I've got a black one, so it's not like it's urgent) because it just wouldn't be the same without the crowning detail.

I have a 3.5" Panta 6-fold that I have been wanting narrowed to 3.25" or 3" but I can't bring myself to bring it to Tiecrafters. I'm worried it'll come back with fewer folds, or some such.

Why not try them out with a cheaper tie at first? There is a lot of positive feedback on them on here.

I have a number of ties I want to get narrowed by them but will experiment with a couple of basic ones before sending in anything valuable.

Do you also manufacture bowties or just ties as I might be interested in getting one?

Thanks!

I currently am, and am picking up the results next Friday. But a lightly-lined hand-rolled 6-fold is such a different animal from the lined 4-fold I gave them, I doubt I could make a real comparison.

In other news, Sam are you planning on stocking any raw patterned silks for the (northern hemispheric) summer?

Applky,

Why not contact Ed at Panta to ask what they charge for remaking a tie?

As I recall I read that they have their ties made in New York so it may be easy and quick to have them work on the tie for you.

"..In other news, Sam are you planning on stocking any raw patterned silks for the (northern hemispheric) summer?"

There is a good chance that we will have some rough English silks, and perhaps some linen colors.

Mr Knightly,

Slowly but surely we are now making bow ties - but none yet with grenadine silk. I wonder if a grenadine bow tie would need a light interlining to help hold its shape? Please email me if you want to talk about construction possibilities - some experimenting would be needed.

Deedee,

Yes, we are making bow ties but very slowly....

I have the swatches and the burgundy seems to be a dark brown and the dark red seems to be true burgundy. YMMV.

I've already decided on a bitter chocolate grenadine garza grossa tie and need another that goes well with navy, brown and eggplant. I saw a gentleman the other day on the subway wearing a burnt orange tie with an eggplant stripe shirt with brown pants and it looked very sharp. Very fall!!
Many thanks!!

I was considering the burnt orange in cashmere.

I have the Macclesfield Challis wool tie in burnt orange, which I am very hapy with.
