^^ that is generally the difference people site. though i think for most people, and for most daily wear, you could really wear either one. ^^

+1

For me, the grossa doesn't really make as much of a difference to formality as to the interesting-ness of different textures. So I would definitely be comfortable wearing a grossa to, say, a job interview as long as it was a subdued and dark color (like the dark navy).

The formality difference between weaves, particularly grossa and fina, comes up often. IMO, there is no difference in formality only a difference in weave. I think both are pretty formal ties and I would wear, and have worn, either to any business meeting or boardroom.

+1. I'd wear mine anywhere too, but if I were concerned about formality, it wouldn't be one grenadine vs. another. It would be grenadine vs. some ultra-conservative silk tie with no texture.

Just spoke to DHL and my package will be delivered during the day. I spoke with David when placing my order and asked him if it was possible to have a speedy process, which he certainly made happen. It only took five days from when I placed the order for the three ties (one black prometeo grenadine, one gray cashmere and one 6-fold Macclesfield print neat) plus one cream silk PS to be made and delivered to Sweden.

Amazing! I'm really looking forward to getting home and open the package!

Thanks again, David. :)

Thanks all for your really helpful answers to my questions.

Based on that, I'm going to order the grenadine garza grossa.

Ciao

Would like to see a line up of formal outfits and casual outfits comparing the 2 weaves and see if there is any difference. Any volunteers?

I just got my very first grenadine a couple of days ago and wore it for the first time yesterday.

Unfortunately, as I was eating a peach, I got some pulp on it

I used a little water to dab it off, but there is a slightly dark spot now - I don't know if it's because of the peach or if it's a water spot. Does anybody have any advice on how to get it out? Should I take it to the cleaner?

Trying to figure out a bow tie order -- need the right size b/c they are non-adjustable. Read somewhere else it's usually collar size+ 19in. Anyone else have experience upon which you can comment. David said I needed to try one on and then measure that, but hoping for a quicker answer.
Thanks.

Quick cellphone shot of my new arrival. Olive grossa, 4 fold. This, along with a bitter chocolate grossa is my first, and certainly not last Hober purchase.

I also got a cream silk PS, but I find it to be very stiff. Is there anything I can do to soften it without ruining it?
