Thank you. You know what they say, go big or go home... biggrin.gif I'm sure I will.

Interesting. I'm like you, I use wide spread collars, which was the reason I asked for those exact measurements as they usually result in a fuller knot and presents a nice shape with my Cappelli ties. Am also enjoying pinkpanther's knots. Would be interesting to know the measurements on a standard Hober in 3,5" width at the front blade.

Thanks for the advice. I sent an email to their customer service inquiring when the grossa will be back in stock.

If the grossa is not a possibility i will be looking into the fina.

No problem.

I had not seen that yet. Thanks for that, i appreciate it.

I am thinking of ordering the following:
Bitter Chocolate, grossa: http://www.samhober.com/grenadine-grossa-solid-silk-ties/bitter-chocolate-grenadine-silk-tie-6.html
Midnight Blue, fina: https://www.samhober.com/grenadine-fina-solid-ties/midnight-blue-grenadine-fina-silk-tie-8.html
Burgundy, piccola: https://www.samhober.com/grenadine-piccola-silk-ties/burgundy-piccola-grenadine-silk-tie-3.html

Any advice you/or anyone else could offer on the above?

Edit: decided to place the order as i got too excited.
I changed the Burgundy to a Prometeo weave: https://www.samhober.com/grenadine-prometeo-silk-ties/burgundy-prometeo-grenadine-silk-tie-3.html

Also ordered some swatches of various Macclesfield ties.

I asked for a Classic Tie, 57 in length and 3.5 in width as these will be my first ever tie purchases.

LuNa23 - welcome to the thread.  Your choices for your first order are excellent! :nodding: Cannot go wrong with any of them.  Remember to post pics!

Love the 190 PP. I believe that's its first appearance here.

Hey PPanther,

I have noticed that many of your pictures have you in suits with stripes or plaids.  Do you wear solids much?  personal preferences?

I only have ~5 suits so 4 are solids and 1 POW.  I guess this gives me license to wear ties with a bit more action.

Ennius - you are correct, the vast majority of my suits/jackets have patterns of some sort and it is just personal preference. It was really that fact that drew me in to Hober ties because David has so many great solid ties from which to choose (grenadine or otherwise).  And then once I got my first Hober I was hooked....

Today's Hober is a repeat and is the SF-approved burgundy grenadine fina (6-fold construction).

Colors are off. Ties are darker overall. Beautiful colors.

tdude - very, very nice.  I have my eyes on the blue with red/white stripes. :inlove:

Which type of tie is the blue solid?
