Any of the wool challis, oxford weave or diamond weave are good options. The wool challis is more of a fall / winter tie (though I think the color you describe is more of a fall / winter color too), but if you like it the best, get it. In all honesty, how many forest green ties does a man need for spring / summer? I'd think that one would be enough. It's a nice color but IMO not a staple that you can use a few of (like say blues, greys, burgundy, black), so you can experiment with seasonal weaves at an earlier point.

Thank you very much for all the sound advice, especially on the grenadine grey/silver as that last pic really convinced me to purchase it.  I will post some pics when the ties arrive.

I received the burgundy Oxford #6 a few weeks ago. Great tie. nod[1].gif

I don't wear many satin ties, but I have no objection to them.

Today's Hober is the midnight blue with dark red pindots grenadine grossa (6-fold construction).  Similar to it's sister tie with purple pindots, the red is...subtle.

Dark chocolate grenadine grossa on its maiden voyage. 70 degree high in Chicago means I can wear a mid-weight suit comfortably for the 20 minute walk to work. Perfect opportunity to try out a new Hober.

The maiden voyage with a new Hober is always a good day!  Looking good archibaldleach! nod[1].gif

Indeed it is a good day, thanks pinkpanther. Thinking the navy and sky houndstooth will be worn with a medium grey suit and white shirt to a wedding this Saturday. Figure I should at least try a couple of the new ones on before placing my next order.

You will love that tie and all around you (the dudes anyway) will be envious of that tie. nod[1].gif

One quibble though...it is never too early to place your next Hober order! biggrin.gif

Well, buying 15 ties (the number on my wishlist) is just not feasible for me now, so I do have to make some tough decisions, check out inventories (if I see something with fabric for one tie left that I don't think you have, I may have to move it up the queue smile.gif), etc. New suits are more of a priority now anyways.
