A Sam (and David) Hober Tie Appreciation Thread - Page 169

Just received the navy Grossa (#10). I ordered a 6-fold this time to see the difference between my two recently ordered 4-folds. Once again, David does not disappoint. Here are a few cell phone shots with all three.

Thanks. Yeah, I should have thought about the possibility of an unlined grenadine being prone to stretching prior to ordering and consulted with David. Oh well, this was a learning lesson, and I've had good luck reselling a couple of Hobers on previous occasions. Now that I will be ordering another navy fina 7-fold, I have justification to go ahead and get one of the new striped grenadines as well. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

How do I customize a tie when I order it?

I can add stuff to cart, but don't see options for 6-fold, 7-fold, 4-fold, tipping, etc.

Click on the "Tie Construction Options" page (should be left hand side of the screen). You also can leave David notes on the order page. Happy shopping!

Its one the tabs on the side. Construction options I think, add those options to your cart.

Then when you checkout there is a notes box where you can type out exactly what you want done with the tie(s) you are ordering.

Edit - lol PP beat me to it.

At the top of the "categories" column on the left-hand side of the page, there's a link for tie construction options: http://www.samhober.com/options-for-tie-construction/

Find the specifics you want, e.g. hand-rolled edges without tipping or extra length, and add the item to your cart. It's really quite simple. Then, in the checkout process, enter your desired length and width in the notes, along with the type of knot you tie. Happy shopping. smile.gif

I keep refreshing the Hober site every half hour hoping to see an update with pics of the new striped grenadines. laugh.gif

Edit: Dang, PP and stitchy beat me to it. 3 answers for ya within 10 minutes.. can't complain about that, Kai! tounge.gif

Unlined, untipped navy grenadine fina, true 7-fold. Clearly, I need practice on my tie selfie pics to get to the level of PP and other posters in this thread. wink.gif

That tie is f-ing sweet (my navy fina arrived a couple days ago and is waiting for me at home nod[1].gif).

Your pic is great and tie knots don't get much better than that one, well done! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Coming from the king of Hobers and with consistently great knots yourself, that means a lot! worship.gif Kudos to David for his awesome products.

Enjoy your new tie. If I could only own/wear one tie for the rest of my life, it would be a navy grenadine fina. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

OK.

Thanks for the help.

Ordered 5 ties.

Following the directions here, I added 5 units of 6-fold construction, and in the notes, directed them to make all 5 of them 6-folds.

Should be all that I need, right?

Hober's standard dimensions are 57" x 3.75". If you prefer something else, you should have mentioned that in the notes as well. If you failed to, no biggie, just reply to the confirmation email and let David know--he'll probably get back to you very quickly. Otherwise, enjoy your new ties when they arrive! What did you purchase?

+1

I would email David to make you are clear on what you want for length and width.

Along with what Flyswatter and in stitches noted, in the notes section let David know what tie knot you will use (eg, four-in-hand) and what size tie knot you prefer (eg, small, medium, large).

Then sit back, let David do his thing and enjoy the sh!t out of them when they arrive.
