Any advice on which swatch sets to get? Thinking I only need one grenadine weave set to understand the color options.

I suggest getting all of them, the same colors in the different weaves can vary and they aren't expensive.

If you plan on buying many ties from David, it is absolutely a good investment

I hope this isn't sarcasm. Too many low-post forum newbies get pissy right away and it never ends well.

My apologies if it isn't.

I think it's fine 90%+ of the time even in a pretty conservative field. If you have a formal meeting and want to be very conservatively dressed, I'd wear something in navy, grey or burgundy, but those sorts of things should be few and far between.

Yeah my tablet camera does no justice. Maybe I should stop with the shirt-tie-pant-shoe buying for a bit and get a quality point and shoot from ebay or something.

No sarcasm here, just plain old enthusiasm! Adding swatches to my shopping cart now.

Thank you for the clarification.

My suggestion was made in earnest and not simply because I am a huge fan of David's ties. If you are going to stick with one type of weave then the swatch decision is straightforward. However, if you intend to acquire different weaves then the swatch sets for all of them are a solid (and modest) investment. Color shades do vary between weaves, particularly with the blues.

Happy shopping!

Just got my first Sam Hober yesterday in purple grenadine grossa with contrasting bar tack, and I absolutely love it.
