Mr. Porter 50% off sale - picked up gucci tux etc already - Page 44

Got a bunch of stuff over the course of the past few weeks.. Alexander McQueen sweater that I bought for $267, and then MrP was kind enough to price match it further when it went to $187. Folk chukkas, couple of Ami shirts for ~$80, canali cardigan for $200 marked down from $700.. this semi annual sale is awesome.

Hm, there are a couple items on the Mr. Porter UK site I'm looking at. Anyone have experience with shipping to the U.S.? I think someone had previously mentioned duties are already taken into account. What about return policy? I'm kind of scared the items might not fit properly. I don't know if I can trust the Mr. Porter sizing measurements (it lists a IT48 jacket as having a 16" shoulder??? but their standard 39" chest model is wearing it, something isn't lining up...)

call their customer service, im sure they would give you the discount and let you buy as a US customer. IMO

I was going to pick up some solid Oliver Spencer brogues that were on sale for $250, but with like $50 in duties, and another $50 in tax, nope... so unfortunate.

Just got the email for the final round of Mr Porter (international) sales - up to 80% off.

UK site hit 80%, guessing that is final round?

Grabbed this burberry trench: http://www.mrporter.com/product/175853

For some reason, doesn't look like a typical prorsum (not flashy w/o tabs, etc.), will see how it fits (sized down based on picture/measurements to UK46). Will make it my work coat, since the 2 others are a bit too flashy for work.

These Mr. Porter sales are making me bankrupt, that is the 3rd burberry trench I bought from them.

Can I still shop uk site if I'm in the us?
Yes, shipping is like 25-30 euro or something though.

Thanks, hopefully I can still find something

Yes, I just ordered from their website. They remove the VAT but add duties (it ends up being a wash in cost since the two are almost the same for US), then add 30 pounds for shipping (~ 45 USD). AMEX also seems to charge me about 4-5% whenever I order from the UK for the conversion. The Burberry trench I got was marked down to 508 pounds, but cost me around USD $900 (after conversion rate, shipping, and AMEX conversion fees --- basically an additional USD $100 as a "penalty" for ordering from the UK instead of the US site).

My only concern, which I don't know if it is legitimate since I rarely order anything out of the US (1st time was recent Drake's sale and now this), is whether I'll get hit with an additional processing fee when the item arrives. I also don't know if this is subject to additional taxes (i.e. state?).

(Edit: Woot, post 1000! I guess kind of slow, since I've been a member since 2007)

Should've started already, no? I mean, Thanksgiving is over! Mr. Porter will probably be having a sale 2 weeks into December if not.

Mrporter's sister site has just began their sales! So it should be soon. It's either early dec or after Christmas. My guess is after Christmas.
