I've bought a dozen Pantharella socks from MrPorter before. They really are a first-class operation in terms of speed of shipping, quality of communication, and quality of the packaging. Look forwards to getting my JL's.
My package arrived today here on the West Coast. Great packaging and quick delivery...all top notch. Unpacking 2 pairs of JL's....City II in Brown Museum Calf and Becketts in Black Museum Calf...just sublime. My long weekend has started off with quite a bang!
Glad to see a lot more people were able to take advantage of this sale via proxy. Kudos to you guys who extended the service to others.
Quick question - did the Lobbs also end up at 50% off retail so in the $500-$700 range? I know it says 50% off on the heading of the thread, and I've seen the Lobb prices on Porter. Just making sure. You lucky dogs.
This brings me to the following question --- based on the quick shipping, effortless experience, unproblematic packaging, and so forth, would you pay a premium for this again when stuff is not on sale? Some of their markups on prices are outrageous, but some stuff is not. I had a good experience with this and it certainly swayed me.

In short, yes. The Becketts were $795 and the City II's were $585 which were 50% off the listed retail pricing. The Becketts price retail matched what I saw at Neiman Marcus and at the JL boutique store here in So Cal.
I've got decent disposable income, but no so much that I would have felt good about buying these at retail....this sale certainly put me over the edge to take advantage as these were both shoes I've coveted for over a year now. I would have loved to have seen the Luffields and/or the Tudors on Mr. Porter when this sale started, but beggars can't be choosers.
Most of the Mr. Porter site's inventory really didn't appeal to me otherwise I would have bought more. I wish I liked the selections of Simon Spurr or Ralph Lauren Black/Purple Label, but no go. The Charvet shirts I would have bought were listed as Wardrobe Staples and not part of the sale.
Overall, quite thrilled to get some grail items at such a discount.

Yes, and I have. However, I make sure that Porter's prices for the items I want are not out of line with what I'd pay at any other merchant.
