Fractured toe healing

Ok, so fractured my big toe in like 4 spots, a week ago. I noticed that it looks crooked a bit. The doctor didnt say anything about "buddy" taping it, but will that help, or does it just look crooked because my foot/ toes are so swollen? Also, usually how long does it take before I can walk without my big air boot? Any info would be fantastic. Thanks.

Did you get an X-ray?

Yeah, but he didn't say anything about it...just wondering if its due to the fact that its swollen...

What did he tell you? He didn't put a small wrap on the toes or anything like that? I just got done healing up from two broken toes. Doctor put a wrap on them and gave me one of those padded shoes to walk around in. Took 6 weeks to heal and killed my workout since I do Crossfit.
