"The Unfazed" by Dolorean.

I was looking forward to the new albums by Mogwai and Radiohead but I found both of them a little disappointing.

Clockwork Angels probably won't drop till mid 2012. If "Caravan" and "Bu2B" are any indication, it will be an excellent record.

Also liked Kurt Vile and James Blake.

Can't say I've heard the Kurt Vile record, but TVOTR and James Blake were both excellent. Strokes was disappointing, GOLDFISH was excellent, tune-yards was revelatory. Can't think of any more right now, even though I've listened to a silly number of albums this year already.

Not gonna lie my friends love it but I sort of fall into this category too. I mean, I like sparse music, but this takes sparse to a whole new level. Plus, how is that dubstep?

It's actually dubstep in the truest sense of the genre, in that most modern stuff that people consider dubstep is a newer variation on a very old genre. I agree that it's sparse, and as such think that it suits only certain scenarios. I tend to listen to it at the end of a long day, either through good headphones or my home cinema system, just to really sit back and appreciate it. It's certainly not 'get pumped before going out' music, or 'glorious summer day' music.

I would also give his EPs a chance, as they are immeasurably superior to the LP. CMYK, in particular, is excellent. Here's the title track
