Gaziano Girling last fit question - Page 2

I'm considering a pair of G&G MTO but I don't know my size in G&G.

185

I get the impression from other discussions that my EG size should translate to my G&G size. Is that true for most people here?

My best-fitting RTW shoes are:

- Edward Green UK 7E in 202 last (note 1)
- Allen Edmonds US 8D in 5 last (note 2)
- Allen Edmonds US 8E in Executive last 2 (note 3)

Note 1: Not quite enough toe room for the right foot at first, but perfect once stretched out. from wearing. Cannot wear thicker dress socks or they would be too tight.

Note 2: Must wear thicker dress sockes (e.g., Gold Toes) for best fit. Perfect for cold days.

Note 3: A little tight with thicker dress socks, but fine otherwise.

I believe you are going to be good with a 7 in G&G. But of course, make no promises. Bear in mind the G&G leathers are generally pretty supple - better to be too snug at first than to roomy.

For me:
I'm a US 8.25 perhaps slightly narrow. Sometimes a US 8D works fine other times a 8.5D
G&G TG73 - 7UK (I tried a 7.5 but it is a little large.) The 7 is quite snug in the toes at first but works out perfectly after a few wearings.
AS 724 - 7UK
Septieme Larguer - 7UK
C&J 348 - sized down to 6.5
Lobb 6.5 UK
Santoni 6.5 UK (Snug)
A few Italian makes in 40.5 EU or 41

Why do MTO until you know you have a good fit? I'd order a RTW pair to get the fit right first if it were me.

I didn't see one I liked in my size at Bespoke England, but I'll check again. It's a good idea. Thanks for your help.
