Does the vendor have just the one pair, or is he/she flogging hundreds or thousands of them? Check the vendor's other auctions.

Can you post the auction URL here? Will be much easier to judge.

The vendor appears to have hundreds of new and apparently "AUTHENTIC" and "GENUINE" designer brand sunglasses. I'm suspicious. You have to ask, where is he/she getting them all from?

AFAIK many designer brand sunglasses, like Persol, are destributed by Luxottica.

hi, i send him a message asking if the sunglasses are authentic an why are so cheap, and this told me

Our glasses are 1000% authentic with the Persol mark on the lens. We purchase large quantities so that we can offer the best prices on the web.

Let me know if I can assist you further, and we look forward to your business!

Very good point, i dont think is a very good deal make and sell fake persol when there is no so much demands as a others brands, persol dont are in the most famous brands and dont have a big market, and its must be very dificult and expensive faking them.

It might be expensive to make a good replica, however many replicas are not particularly good. One thing about fake sunglasses, they might not have adequate harmful UV filtering and protection, and could be potentially dangerous for the wearer. The counterfeiters won't care about things like ISO, ANSI and CE safety standards for sunglasses.

Presumably the counterfeiters think that Persol has enough brand recognition and desirability to make it worth their while faking them.

I'm looking at Persols from the eBayer louthbird now. I have to say that the photos look impressive but there is still no explanation offered as to how he can sell these at half the retail price. It also says that they have 20 years experience but there is no link to or mention of any physical store anywhere. And then there is that one feedback among 1000 positive ones saying that the glasses were fake. And how does one know that the real looking photos are his photos?

The last time I bought something fake off eBay, from another seller, he had about 100% positive feedback and a couple of hundred people vouching for the item's authenticity. Yet they were fake and extremely poorly made ones at that.

I tend to take positive feedback with a grain of salt because it is simply a natural instinct to want to believe that what you just paid $150 for is real. But like I said... These certainly look very impressive.

I've purchased Persols from this seller 3 times, and they're definitely real. I got my first pair of glasses from my dad when I was a kid (Persol folding Rattis!!), and have been collecting shades ever since. Persol was always my favorite brand so I have a lot of them, and the three that I bought from that dude (two 649s and a 714) are for sure real.

They're handmade and 007 approved, but they don't cost anywhere near $300 to manufacture. A lot of people don't know that Luxottica manufactures I think its 80% of all sunglass available on the market, and also own Sunglass Hut and Lenscrafters, etc., so they can set prices and charge as much as they want for basically every brand you've heard of (Ray Ban, Prada, Oakley, Gucci, Oliver Peoples, Polo)

It makes sense that some people are able to buy them at a wholesale price and then resell them with a fair markup. lol but thanks to that Aspecs seller cause he saved me a loooot of money and I look fresh!! :p
