Mm, you are right, I missed out the first time I saw it and thought it was lizard.

This is definitely snakeskin, although generally I would classify snake and lizard together in terms of cost with croc a class above it. Some snake skin tends to 'peel' if you rub it vigorously, so lizard would be more 'lasting'.

The patina on the belt is very very nice though and this would be a nice piece to have.
