I'm settling in to my 2-bed condo in the Boston area after about a year here. Still trying to figure out the place completely (and still need to upgrade/replace some furniture and decor) but struggling with finding the "style" I'm comfortable with. Working with a grad student budget, so some of the awesome stuff fellow SF'ers are repping in their cribs is well out of reach. Probably my next investment will be something for the living room (a better couch or seating solution). Feedback and criticism welcome.

The look of your kitchen would be greatly improved if you replaced the fridge with a taller one and removed the cabinet above it.

TV a bit big given the distance, no? Or is it the angle of the shot?

Ultra wide angle Canon lens, so I'm told.

52". The distance is cool.

Wow, nice stereo. Is it a Bose?

The walls are a little bright, no? You got lots of natural light, really light floors .. a bit more contrast would really chill the room out. A light brown (like the dots on the couch pillows) or something. Very nice though .. probably just my preference.

TV and stereo go with the house, hence Bose for the sale. The masses love that shiat. As for the Benjamin Moore 'Butter', looks a little bright in the shots, shows duskier in person. Dusty Yellow number one in resale colours. The choices are for the sale. Total declutter. My system is in the basement! I think the condo came out well. For the time, effort and $$$$$, it frigging well should. Going on the market soon.

Audio newb here.

Are you are laughing because Bose represents an inferior value, or am I missing a joke?

former house thread here: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=138879 we've been working on our upstairs unit for the past few weeks. Tore out the ceiling tiles and pergo floors, along with a 90s built-in shelving system, the 70s wood paneling behind it, and the 20s plaster and plaster boards behind it. We found a giant window frame there, so we tore out part of the wall and inserted one that we bought at a salvage yard, then dry walled the entire place, sanded the floors, and painted everything white. photos of progress (i think these are also the first photos of myself i've posted on sf):
