The reason I asked is that I've never seen gas stoves in any large condo buildings, even the luxury ones. They always have electric, which is of huge annoyance to me since I want gas but I also want to live in a place with concrete floors and walls so that I don't have to worry about pissing off everyone above, below, and beside me if I decide to watch a movie at night. In one of my old apartments I had the cops called on me because of that, and it pissed me right off because I couldn't watch movies at a decent volume after 10 or 11pm.
Anyway, I've always assumed they went with electric to keep the building insurance fees down. Having a gas stove is a really big plus for me and I was surprised to see one in a condo that looks like a new development.
