Sent my landlord an extra month's pay via check. How do I void it?

At the beginning of my lease, I paid $1500 - $500 as a security deposit, and $100 as the first and last month's rent. I forgot about the first + last month's rent and sent my landlord a check for the current month, which was already paid for.

I emailed him and his wife asking whether the check was redundant and they never got back to me. Then I called them and they didn't pick up, so I left them a voicemail to get back to me. They never did.

They are excellent landlord and good people, so I doubt they're avoiding me to cash an extra $500, but I do want to have the check voided somehow, seeing as they haven't deposited it yet.

I sent the check via billpay on BoA; can I call BoA and get them to void it? What are my options?

Edit: wow, i JUST checked my account and he deposited the check!

Just ask them to put it toward next month's rent.

Just contact/visit him to let him know what happened. I'm sure it was a mistake on their part.

He's already deposited the check. Just ask him for the money back if you don't plan on renting another month.

x2 contact BoA and tell them you sent that check in error. They will send you some paperwork, you fill it out, and send it back. Takes a couple days to process the claim.
