Dear Collective,

Can anyone recommend a Midwest based architect or firm that specializes in Arts & Crafts or the Prairie School? Thanks in advance for any leads.

You're seeking architects that specialize in trends that were dated by Roosevelt's second term? Does that exist?

Isn't it like asking if there are any architects that specialize in streamline modern or Bauhaus design? It's just a weird question.

Such architect's certainly do exist, but it will take a bit of searching to find a good one.

My firm doesn't work in your part of the country, but we do a fair amount of work in period style. We don't specialize in one period per se ... but we do significant accessory structures on estates having a period house as a primary structure and focus. We also do a fair amount of historic preservation. Then there are times we are asked to create a period piece from scratch ... as per a current project in Bermuda.

I know of several firms in New England and the Deep South that would meet your criteria. I'll give thought to the Midwest and perhaps chime in on Monday.

Some traditional architects in the Chicago area: http://www.hbra-arch.com/ http://www.tnr-arch.com/ http://www.liederbachandgraham.com/index.html Are you looking for something less traditional?

Thank-you.

You will get a wright focused answer, but they are very knowledgeable about him and that period.
