I'm asian but don't think I could pull it off. Can't grow the facial hair to go with it.

it's surprisingly hard to find pics of this sort of thing... but here's a few ideas: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Reid on Criminal Minds, the multiple parts tucked behind the ears (require quite longe hair) Josh Hartnett, not as long but similar messy ear tuck with some face strands. sort of a basic side part pulled back instead of to the sides Johnny Depp, sort of top knot with free flow behind it. Little messy but good basic concept Heath Ledger, highish top knot but messy Beckham, Top knot and back knot (what I described earlier on)

I'm hoping to get that Nakamura look. But my bangs don't go all the way back yet :\\

Luckily at work I can wear a watch cap now. I still gotta tie it it though. Prior to being able to wear a watch cap, I had what I could grab in a bun, and use pins to hold up the sides behind my ears. Wasn't fun.

I'm growing mine out for a topknot right now... I taper the sides from a #1 to a #5, and never cut the top. It looks sort of ridiculous, but forunately I quit my job, so now I'm wearing a hat all the time now
