I might not be much help as I've never actually worn Alden or Carmina. I'm sort of between an 8.5E and 9E in most Allen Edmonds lasts, FWIW.

I'm an 8.5d in Allen Edmonds strands. If these don't work for me, I'll be sure to let you know. I bought 8.5

Got a couple of questions:

1. Does anyone have any pix of the inside? I carry 3 credit cards and my license. Wondering if that's too many.

2. Who made this shell? Pretty sure it's not Horween since BB would have said that, right?

Well, I ordered this shell clip and was disappointed. Reallly bad design. There is only one retaining strip of leather to hold credit cards. Just one one side, too. They should have put 4 of these strips in the corners so that cards would fall towards the center money divider.  As it is, cards can, and probably will, fall out within your pockets.

Also, the outside shell is bright orange, which doesn't really bother me because, I think, it'll patina.  But that may bother some people.  It does say Made in Japan so I assume it is conipel shell, but there is no other shell propaganda that is usually included ala Horween. It is going back.

Took advantage of the current sale to try the new/old OCBD. The new unlined collar is a subtle difference that very few will notice but I'm sold. After trying one, I ended up getting a couple more.

Yeah they are pretty awesome in person. I really, really wish they offered more than just the typical shade of blue. I just picked up one of the end of the line solid blue Black Fleece OCBDs, and it's the perfect color.

Here is a pic for comparison.

Proper cloth heavy blue oxford on left
Black Fleece in the center,
Normal BB blue at the top
White BB OCBD for control at the bottom:

Do you think the sleeves of BF OCBD are wider than many slim fit shirts, say, BB Regent or Milano OCBDs?

Wow, that BBBF is the perfect blue. I have the old Supima must iron OCBD's in blue, white, ecru that are only a year old. I didn't need to replace them so I just picked up the blue stripes for some variety. Not sure if I'm sold on the no pocket. I understand that its historically accurate, I just like the convenience/practicality.

For me, the the original slim fit or Regent fits me perfectly. On sale they come in at $105

Sad they don't have BBBF at Madison anymore... the suit section got totally gutted... not sure if I'm liking the new set-up.

What is your input for bbbf pants & shirts?

I am the same on the pocket. Since I wear sportcoats most of the time it doesn't bother me and the utility of it is appealing when worn alone.

This BB3 shirt's sleeves (blue) are identical in width to this extra slim fit (Milano; pink) shirt in size 16.5/35.

Wow, all my 3 BB1 shirts' armholes and width of the sleeves are much wider than my Milano 15/33, about 2 inches more opening. So the sleeves look a little baggy one me since I have girly arms...

I down't own any of the shirts as they're too casual/out there for me. The pants are nice and made well. The rise is longer which is a nice contrast to my low rise suit pants (i.e., RLBL).

Scored a 40% off one item coupon in the mail.

I'd say that the age of the shirt may make a difference. It seems like they tweaked the fit over the years. My brother ordered a white OCBD from the end of the line sale, and it turned out to be from 2007 (!), and the length is like 7 inches longer than any of the others. Sometimes BB4 fits me and sometimes it is gigantic. All depends on the shirt.

Also I will say that BB3 is supposedly equivalent to 16/35. Whereas my typical BB shirts are 16.5. So it just may be large in comparison to the equivalent size but I don't have one to compare it to
