When is the Next Brooks Brothers Sale? - Page 507

Maybe some of you will find this interesting.

I recently received an email from BB asking me to participate in an online survey with a gift card offered as an incentive.

I completed the survey. Here are a couple of bits that I found interesting.

First, Brooks Brothers may be introducing a "rewards program":

My guess is that the rewards program would replace the current corporate membership program and friends & family sales since those two sales programs are the best ways to get the lowest prices on BB merch.

Further, it looks like they are considering a "prime" style membership option:

My guess is that this would replace the current shoprunner partnership which is the only way to get free shipping right now.

There were lots of questions about examples of membership benefits I would consider the most attractive. I can post more details if anyone is interested. Some of the suggested perks seemed a little bizarre to me.

So who here would pay an annual membership fee to BB in order to have certain perks?

But inflation is under 2%.  :fu:

Next time I am in BB, I will ask the shoes salesperson what the deal is with the price increases. I have been buying shoes from her for a long time so she will likely give me the straight scoop if she is clued in.

I filled out the survey some time ago as well. the code didn't work when I tried using it about two weeks after submitting the survey (and BB didnt respond to my enquiry about it) so be sure to use your code ASAP

To provide the membership perks listed (by what I remember):

-Priority sale access

-Free monogramming

-Free pressing

-Complimentary drink in store

-Free shipping

-Free gift after a certain number of purchases (free tie with three purchased shirts)

-"Point" bonus windows

-Transfer partners (CC programs: ex. AmEx MR, Citi TY)

-Transfer partners (Charities: ex. St. Jude's)

-Dedicated/priority phone number

The survey was just a ranking of these by preference.

Any word on when the next 30% off corporate sale is? Has been a while since I remember one.

Nope. There's a 25% F&F coming this month.

I did the survey as well. Sounds like they're going to try to pull an Amazon Prime. Not thrilled with the "benefits" they're tossing around if it involves an annual fee.

Do you have a date for this?

Seriously! Free pressing or complimentary drinks in store. That's crap. To me, the only benefits that matter were:
1. Free shipping
2. Priority sale access.

That's it. The other stuff don't really matter to me.

What an effing joke.

Here's what Brooks needs to do:

1.  Get a BB catalog from the 1950s.

2.  Pick 10 essential wardrobe items.  Maybe:

    - Navy suit.  Choice of Madison or Regent, choice of pleated for flat-front but with proper rise.

    - Gray suit.  As above.

    - All season DB Navy blazer.  As above.

    - Grey flannel trouser.  As above.

    - White and blue OCBDs

    - White and blue spread collar broadcloth shirt

    - Brown Peal captoe

    - #8 cordo unlined loafer

    - BB #1 repp tie

    - Navy neat tie

3.  Manufacture to 1950s standards

4.  Assign prices equivalent to the 1950s catalog + reported inflation

5. Sell as a Collection.

I wouldn't even think about paying an Amazon Prime like fee to BB without significant improvements in BB's customer service.

Mother f'er. I started filling the survey out on Friday, but then it threw an error at one point and I thought I could come back to it later, but looks like they already received enough sample responses.

Same thing happened to me with the error. My favorite part of the survey was when they asked how much I would be willing to pay annually. I wanted to say $0, but to be nice I put $5.

Aw man I just saw that email.  I deleted it thinking it was nothing.  Opened it up now and I see they were giving away $20 ecards to participants.  Thats sucks.  I clicked through and it said the quota was full.
