I feel like BB is so overpriced its ridiculous. Only thing I really want is dress shirts based on pricing.

How long does it take to activate a Corporate Membership? I signed up and received the Membership Number, but when I go to activate, it says it doesnt work.

Do I need to wait for it to come in the mail?

so where do you like to shop for work staples?

Bargain shop for a lot of stuff. You can get decent wool pants from Banana Republic or J Crew on sale. Bonobos is also solid when they have their sales. Dress shirts come from several places. Lately I've been grabbing them from JosABank when they go on sale for 15-20 dollars a piece. I do own some nicer clothes but don't wear that except when its something super important. I just can't justify paying $150 for a single pair of BB pants when I know I can do so much better for that price.

and who pays $150 for BB wool pants?
get them on sale
heck, even without waiting for the sale, you can get 2 for $229 or something right now
making each pair of pants $114.xx
and wait for 30% or more off during sales for even better price

JAB shirts are crap... i TRIED and tried to like them because they are so cheap
but whenever i tried on a shirt from JAB, i was quickly reminded why it's so cheap

i have owned several pants from banana republic .. they're just okay
and the nicer stuff gets pricey
don't own any jcrew pants but they're not exactly cheap either

i do shop online quite often but i don't like stores that do not have a physical location ...

brooks brothers is not the best in any category
but it is a damn fine store that has all the work staples and has frequent enough sales that make it a great go-to for well made clothing

Isn't that 30% off excluded from sales? Plus, most of the actual nice dress pants are up near $200 if not over.

I do own a couple of their dress shirts which I paid $40 or under. I'd probably go up to $45 or $50 for them but IMO they aren't worth too much more than that. YMMV of course, just think there are better options.

If I had a drop 7-8, would I want Slim fit or Extra slim fit dress shirts? I recall trying some extra-slim fit shirts, and the problem was that the chest was tight but the waist was still big...

My biggest complaint with Brooks Brothers is that there are huge sales on things but only a few times each year. I am not really sure why anyone would ever shop there except on the boxing day/Summer sale. I mean just last boxing day items were 50% off plus another 15% off. I feel like such a tool trying to buy a shirt right now when I know I could have got the same thing for less than half the price.

Because the 30% off corporate incentive sale is a better deal when buying more than one of an item. I've used this sale over the past year or two to get the prices of shirts down to $50, sweaters to $50 and the gabardine slacks to $85 each. At these prices, BB is a better value than any other stores out there.

I do agree that the December 26 sale is the best for buying only one of an item (suit, sport coat, etc.).

How do you apply the corporate discount? I just got the email saying my corporate membership has been activated, but when I go on the site I dont see any type of discount, even after adding to my cart and going to the checkout window. Shouldnt there be a constant 15% off?
