When is the Next Brooks Brothers Sale? - Page 499

Well there wasnt a last time because I never posted in this thread but yes, there are always exceptions that change. I just know from experience that it happened (that cordovan was included) in spring 2015 (and I think just a month or two ago as well)

Good to know

FWIW, I purchased a pair of Alden unlined cordovan LHS in the last BB corporate event, in November. No issue getting the 30% - in fact, it was given as an additional adjustment (as I purchased them a few days earlier @ the usual 15% to ensure I'd have my size).

On another note, quick question for 240 last shoe owners. I'm wrestling with whether the cord SWBs are my size or not; I'm getting a good deal of heel slip with light socks but it feels more connected to the rock-hard double-leather sole. I wear an 8D in Alden Van and 8E in Park Ave - both are perfect fits. Do I want an 8D, or have others found 7.5 better (which doesn't exist in this shoe)?

Weirdly, the Peal cord boot is a perfect fit at 8D, though boots are always more forgiving I suppose.

ETA: I also wear an 8D barrie, but don't love the fit (7.5D too short)

OK, then it wasn't you.

I think cordovan has been included in the corporate sales since at least March 2013 as that's when I last used the discount on some Aldens. Prior to that the workaround was to add the pair to your cart before the sale. You couldn't navigate to the cordovan models but they were still there. I think google cache worked too.

What are some good buys for the sale?

Hey,

Do you remember the last time cordovan was excluded? I feel like I've bought a pair of shell cordovan shoes the past 5-6 sales dating back 2-3 years. I don't recall a single time when shell was excluded.

Happy Holidays! Be safe.

There is this one post, but that may have been for the 40% off coupon.

Yes my memory was that gentleman was trying to buy the new C&J cordovan when a bunch of shoes were discounted at 40%. The shoe he wanted was excluded.

My comment was specific to CIS @ 30%.

I know that in the past, I've seen a few cordovan models that the discount definitely worked on, but others that it did not.  It seemed like they just missed a few.

Right I understood that and was trying to find a post where someone specifically cited where they were rejected the discount, but could not find one from a cursory search.

I want to buy a pair of BB shell cordovan shoes.

Based on the flier posted earlier, it looks like shoes won't be included in the sale.  Can anyone else opine on if shoes will be on sale?

Does BB ever put their shell cordovan shoes on sale?

Thanks!

Shell shoes are pretty expensive, even among "good" shoes; if I could offer some unsolicited advice, it would be to reconsider getting such an expensive pair of shoes as you're still new to all this. I know when you're new, and all the advice says buy the good stuff, it's tempting to rationalize getting the absolute best, but at this stage you might end up finding our that it doesn't eventually match your needs or liking.

A lot of the Brooks Brothers shoes are pretty good, and cost a bit less. You could consider those until you have things more figured out.

+1 to ramping up wardrobe in small steps

although if OP is sure he wants a pair in cordovan, the BB corp sale is one of the cheapest places (other than ebay) to get a first-quality cordovan shoe (but sales on cordovan tend to be SA specific!)

Quick question. If I call a SA who I know to order sth and have it shipped to my home address, do they charge shipping?

Shipping is free if the item is ordered in store by your SA. The SAs at the BB stores actually prefer this since the store gets credited for the order.
