Can you post photos of the Peal and the RL Marlow side by side?

Sorry for the bad iPhone pics but here you go.  Marlow is 8D and Peal is 8.5D.  The obvious differences are the toe medallion and last shape.  The Marlow's are chunkier/more casual.  The Peal's are more almond shaped.  The heels on the Marlow's are cut longer and the sole is a tiny bit thicker.  To me, the Marlow is the quintessential shell wingtip, so it's hard for me to settle for anything else, but the Peal's are much easier to size, IMO.

Can you comment on sizing differences between the marlow and the Peal and Co? It seems like the Marlow is wider, but I would be curious by how much. Also, you note the heel in the marlow is longer, but can you tell me/us which you feel is "snugger" and gives you a more solid heel lock?

The Marlow toe box is narrower whereas the Peal has a more gradual taper.  People say that the Marlow size is +.25 and I agree with this.  Between the 8D Marlow and 8.5D Peal, I didn't notice a difference in the heel size.  When I mentioned the heel, I meant the heel stack, sorry for the confusion.

Was able to order a pair of BB Peal & Co. (C&J) Shell Cordovan Boot at the SF store today with the 40% off in-store coupon. The SA ordered as the smallest size they had in store was a 9D and I needed an 8.5D (which was available online).

Tried the 9D on in-store and it looks sweet, but just a bit too big for me. Can't wait to get my 8.5D's in a week or so!

Kind of a PSA, though nothing to do with sales, but this is the main Brooks Brothers thread so.... Anyone looking for a nice pair of cold weather business casual pants should check out the brushed twill in Clark and Milano fits. I handled them in person and was impressed enough with the fabric to do something I never thought I'd do again: pay full retail for a Brooks Brothers product. Even at full retail ($108), I think they're a pretty decent value. The closest thing I have is Howard Yount's moleskin trousers. These are not quite as nice as the HY's, but they're also a little bit cheaper and are machine washable, which is a big plus in my book.

I have ordered a couple pairs of their cotton brushed twill dress pants as well, was also very pleased...

I grabbed the camel and navy. Sold out in my size in olive, or I'd have grabbed them too. They didn't have the khaki in store, and the color appeared too light and kinda yellow online, so I passed on those.

Bought the mossy green last year on boxing day. Very nice for a Canadian winter, so I got the olive and khaki this year during the corporate sale. The latter is a little yellow, but I kind of like it as most winter-weight casual pants tend to be drab.

The green ones seem prone to pill a little but I've not yet noticed anything with the new batch.
