EG prices have gone up so it's not really that great of a deal compare to people buying them years ago.

Did they adjust the price upwards for this? or do you mean over the years - if thats the case, so has the price of everything - even freaking allen edmonds price has gone up, because people who are buying shoes at that price have an inelastic demand curve (unfortunately), and EG hasn't seen a decline in sales as a result of higher prices. But theres no substitute goods at the former price.

I mean over the years. Yes there is huge demand for quality shoes out there across the price range from AE to EG to StC, etc.

yeah it sucks! Why does everyone want nice shoes? But even still 700 for EG shoes with shoe trees isn't bad (i think theyre like ~1100 from BB, so 40% off should be ~700).

Say what now?  Is that if you have a corporate card or something?

RogerP: It's a one-time use coupon received by mail that may or may not be applied on EGs depending on your relationship with BB SA.

You have an exquisite collection that will last multiple lifetime, are you sure you need another pair? :worship2:

Are there shoes you bought but haven't worn yet? I'm in that territory.

Only the occasional off-season purchase otherwise what's bought gets worn or gets sold. I have one pair of boots in that latter category but haven't got around to posting yet.

Does anyone know the maker of these chuka boots?

http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Unstructured-Suede-Chuka-Boots/MH00496,default,pd.html?dwvar_MH00496_Color=DKBR&contentpos=9&cgid=0522

They are made in the USA, and the details, nail heel pattern, and price match the Alden unlined chuka, but they don't have the flex welt.

I don't know for sure but my guess would also be Alden.

I'm not an expert but the colour of the outsole and insole appears to be Alden.

They look like Alden, Leydon last.  These are sized in D width though.  Most retailers recommend E width in this last.
