I also eyed this shoe they had available. Can I get some opinions on this?

Also, can someone help to identify the maker of this shoe/last below? It says it is made in the UK if this will help.

What's the pricing?

Stevent - I think C&J has a custom last for all BB shoes right?

Black fleece traditionally have stuck with 325 last it should be written inside shoe as well

I don't think I've seen AS or C&J use a nail pattern like that before.

Thank you for your reply Fred.  I ordered the boots and will report back.

I just looked inside the shoe, it does note number, 325. Thanks for that info!

Is anyone else thinking of picking up anything from this spring/summer sale or is 30% off not enough? Thinking about some seersucker or dark summer pants, e.g., linen.

Pretty disappointed that the Egyptian cotton lux shirts went from $84 to $92.5 yesterday.

Picked up a made-to-measure suit for 44% off ($1500 retail for $850).

Can anyone comment on the quality of these Ancient Madder ties? The description says they are printed in Italy and made in the USA. I am referring to the group that retails for $115, not the seven fold that retails for $175. Thanks.

I own a couple of BB madders, but mine are a few years old (bought last summer at the outlets). Same pricepoint, and not obviously different to the last ones I checked out at a retail Brooks.

They're nice. The heavy silk, fairly thick interlining, and chalky texture mean that they can be slightly tricky to knot, but a couple tries always gets it right for me. The current ones may be a touch narrower than mine, which might make that a tiny bit easier -- and make them less likely to tie rather large knots.

I don't see that they're made much better than the standard BB ties -- the lining is sewn in there pretty well, there's a slip-stitch, and they have a self-fabric keeper in addition to the label. I think the price difference is just due to the material itself, and possibly the interlining.

If you pull aside the interlining (tricky,  delicate, and a bad idea -- not that it trashed mine, but I suspect it could have), you'll see that the silk is a plain color on the back, which I understand is a sign that they're inkjet printed.

Here's a few of mine (I must really like that square):

Any watch people in this thread?  BB's offerings are currently 30% off.  I love the look of this one (made by Seiko):

Good value for $500?

Assuming its the same tie, I bought one in a lighter blue color a few months black.  I can't offer the detailed critique offered above nor comment on whether it's "true" ancient madder (though it's advertised as ancient madder).  However, I will say that it's one of my favorite ties.  Nice chalky hand, drapes well, and ties a great double FIH.  I'd go for it.

Just an update on the Peal Pebble Wingtip Boot.  They came in today and I thought they were unsatisfactory.  Mainly, the color had sort of an unhealthy glow, if that makes any sense.  It was definitely different from the website photos.  The fit was very uncomfortable at the top of the boot.  While I really liked the overall shape of the boot, I didn't want to wait and see if the leather would break in.  Hope this helps.

I've got them and I really like them. They came in slightly lighter in color than I expected, but they have darkened a bit with wear and polish. They were VERY stiff when I first got them, so much so that I got blisters over my ankles from the top of the boot. However, once they were broken in, they were my go to boots all fall and winter. One minor annoyance is that even when tied tightly, they tend to shred through shoelaces at the hooks. I bought some round brown synthetic Doc Martin laces and they have held up much better than normal round cotton laces.
