The associate may let you sneak in a pair of cordovan or another item but depends on your relationship with the associate.

Darn I wish I received one.

I'd love to buy a pair of shoes from Brooks Brothers but I don't have a 40% coupon.  I spent ~$600 there about a year ago and still have the sales associate's card (he even sent me a hand-written letter around Christmas).

Odds of success if I call and ask him for the deal?

You still may. I just received one today and I am in nj. I am pretty sure they were sent from Ct, so if you are further away, there might be one on the way for you!

SA told me he's expecting my Alden cord captoes to arrive tomorrow but he won't be in until Wednesday so I will be there to pick them up then. Doubt they will let you use it on more than one item, but again if you have a big enough account with them I'm sure they can work something out.

I got the card today. I'm guessing that it excludes EG, but I'll give it the old college try.

Got mine too. Anyone have any luck last go around getting an SA to apply it to the 2 for $1700 suits? If so, I would do that in a heartbeat. It isn't that much better than the just missed 30%. If not, I don't know what I'm going to get - maybe a Filson duffel.

It is a line item discount so I don't think that would work. Best case, a SA may apply it to one of the suits for $1700, but I wouldn't count on it.

FYI theses are now listed on the website. The jacket is a Regent.

Are the codes on the card a long, unique number? Sometimes they're just a short, four- or five-digit code that are clearly not unique.

I'll be glad to assume your wrong name if they work on EGs :bigstar:

I got the 40% card in the mail today, which is April 1 when the envelope says "Postmaster: Please deliver on 3/27/2014 - 3/31/2014", but stuff happens with the mail. I get it. What really sucks is that last Friday, 3/28, I bought an 1818 Fitzgerald suit during the preferred customer event and only got the 15% discount. Had I known this coupon was already in the mail, or had it been delivered to me on 3/27 or on 3/28 before I went down to the BB store, I would've held off so I could've saved an additional $250, as I think any rational human being would've. The back of the coupon says it can't be used on previous purchases, so would it be at all likely that the SA would apply it for me at this point? I would feel kind of bad asking because he did give me a bit of a break on the cost of alterations after I asked if there was any way he could extend me the 25% discount that was going on for cardholders, and his manager said no. Maybe that was bad form to begin with (I didn't think so because I've spent a decent amount of money there over the years), so I don't want to come off as unappreciative or rude. On top of that, I'm not sure if he would stand to lose any commission from applying the 40%. I would certainly feel bad about that.

It never hurts to ask. You might have an understanding SA. But every single SA in my local brooks brothers is an a$s. I honestly don't know if that is the type of image that the store manager wants for his store or what, but I HATE going to my local BB.

Yep I agree with the other sentiments on BB employees. They must work on a pretty steep commission because the vast majority are beyond terrible with service and try to take as many clients on at the same time. I found one in my local BB, but the rest of them are horrendous. Even trying to call up other stores could be very time consuming when playing orders for items only available in other stores. It is clear corporate does not have a good system in place as do RL which is a shame since I almost never wanted to go to a BB store before I met one of the only good employees
