When is the Next Brooks Brothers Sale? - Page 290

Seeing as I managed to just miss finding this site and learning about the corporate program by a day (in order to take advantage of the 30% discount), for someone who wishes to purchase two 1818 Fitz Two-Button suits (one in grey, one in navy stripe) and between 5 and 8 non iron shirts and who needs everything tailored and complete by the end of August, would the best deals for this purchase be with the Semi-Annual sale (opening a new BB credit card) or should I expect another, better sale in time to have everything ready by the end of the summer?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Brooks Brothers have sales quite regularly, but the next biggest one is probably during Thanksgiving. If you don't need them urgently, you could always hold off.

Unfortunately, I have several rounds of interviews September - November that are serving as the impetus for upgrading the wardrobe; I have a single Hickey Freeman navy suit, but need something in charcoal as well as nicer shirts than what I have now... and figured that while I was at it, if I were going to open a credit card for the discount, I might as well add a navy pinstripe.

Hopefully the pre-Father's day sales and semi annual sale the day after are good; otherwise, I may have to go elsewhere (which I really don't want to do!) Just mad at myself for missing the 1818's at $505 apiece, pre-tax of course.

My order actually shipped and was picked up by fedex long before I got the email.
I ordered early morning pacific time wednesday.
I checked my BB account after dinner to see the order had been picked up by fedex a few hours earlier.
I got email with tracking sometime eary this morning.

Update: I got an email a 2 am this morning (FRI) saying my order had shipped!

For reference, I ordered about 5pm EST the day of the corp sale.

Estimate on a Tuesday delivery. (Fedex off on mem'l day). I'm holding out hope for a Saturday delivery since Fedex has been known to deliver Saturday for me anyway. I did the 2 day ship deal with shoprunner.

I just got a pair of calf skin leather shoes from the corporate sale but the inside of the shoes are marked with black streaks because of fed ex delivered them in the rain and the box must have gotten wet...I shouldn't have problems returning these right?

You should be ok.  However, I would take pix of the damaged box in case they want to be d**ks about it.

They are only one day sales, so it is over till the next one comes around.

I know officially cordovan is not supposed to be included in these sales, but it's always worked for me (online). Most recently, I snagged a pair at the 30% sale prior to this past one.

I ordered through SA JDLC and just received my order today. Everything went smoothly with the order.

I ordered the classic OCBD during the corporate sale and was under the impression that the shirt is made in the US. I received the shirt and it is marked made in Malaysia. When I called CS to ask, they said it was simply a mistake on the website as they don't make this shirt in the US. Is this a bunch of BS?

Here's the shirt I ordered:

Sounds like they made a mistake. It happens.

That's strange. They most definitely make a made-in-USA supima cotton button down oxford. I recently purchased 3. Its a lovely shirt. And particularly since that link is under the "USA made" category on their website, I'd say certainly they made a mistake. That is, they both made a mistake in sending you the wrong shirt, and the CS rep made a mistake saying they don't make a USA made shirt (not sure, of course, what he/she actually said). I would try to speak to someone who really knows their product and get to the bottom of things. Its definitely legit for you to return the shirt, too.

Strange. I ordered a classic BB OCBD (red university stripe) recently and the tags says it's made in the U.S. What I find bewildering, though, is that it says it's "100% American Supima Cotton", yet right beneath that, says it's made "of imported fabric":

Still scratching my head about this one, lol. My only guess is that it's cotton from South or Central American, not the U.S. But I thought Supima cotton was only from the U.S., so who knows...

I thought I remembered reading that there were two different OCBDs. One that was Made in the USA and one that was not.

According to wikipedia, Supima cotton is grown in the US, but it doesn't say anything about it having to be woven into fabric here. Maybe that is where the distinction is.
