received the red wing boots from BB ... although i like the overall look of the boots with the commando soles, they just don't fit right

If the weird thing with the tongue is that it bunches up on the side of the boot and digs into your ankle, that is common because of the RW fully gusseted tongue. Hurts like hell for the first couple of weeks but if you push through it long enough it becomes soft as butter. I know it is hard to believe that the featherstone leather will, but in the end it is a completely different animal. I have the 9011 black cherry and was tempted to cut the side of the offending tongue or knife bend the leather. Glad I didn't.

i HAVE to return the boots ... because i just bought the C&J Pembroke for half off, final sale, from barneys
plus i have navy suede shoes coming from jcrew

When it comes to the BB and Nord CC they are essentially on the same reward point set-up. However, BB is 4 points for every dollar compared to Nordstroms' 2 points. Also, BB has been holding double-reward events making it 8 points for every dollar spent that last months. Having worked for both establishments I would say the benefits from BB are greater but then again Nordstrom offers a greater vendor selection.

Friends and Family isn't till later but the event starting today is our Preferred Customer event allowing BB cardholders to receive 25% off, any other tender receives 15%.

Claudio del Vechio is sending out a mass flyer to a select few that is definitely worth your time. Hopefully someone on this forum receives one biggrin.gif

How does (if at all) the BB sold at Nordstrom differ from BB merchandise at its own stores?

+1 on this one, I have the 9016 and they have really softened up for me and are very comfortable now. You should keep them if you want something to kick around in the snow/rain/get dirty but still looks like a work boot.

Anyone know if a 25-30% sale will happen next? Also do the cotton/linen blend fitzergerald blazers go on sale? Or have so in the past?

From my experience not at all. The suit and sportcoat I have are Fitzgerald cut, and I saw some chinos that were Clark fit, if I remember right.

I received 15% off plus free shipping from this sale. I don't know why I received free shipping, maybe it's part of the sale?

 

Anyway, it might make sense to buy things now rather than waiting for Friends & Family 25% off, since I don't think there's free shipping with F&F. Unless you order through a SA? I've never called a store to do that, but I guess it might work.

What mass flyer are you referring to? I received a preapproved cc app from BB a couple days ago...probably because I've bought 4 suits in the last couple of months.

I went into BB on Madison ave and they were handing out flyers. 25% off if you use your BB credit card, 15% otherwise

I used a normal MasterCard for my order and the total discount at the end of the process, after I hit submit the order button, I received was approx. a bit over 25% and if you discount for the one item for the sale section it will be exactly 25%.

I have a question how longer is a trench or a coat in L size to a jacket in R size and where exactly it is longer and by how much? (A size 42 as a reference would be fine)

Nordstrom only sells one cut for the suits (Fitz) and the shirts (not sure, but they look like regular or classic fit).  The other difference I've noticed is the Nordstrom BB merchandise is more expensive that why you pay at BB during a sale.

I'm looking for some casual outerwear that would go well with jeans. Anyone have some recommendations? Most of the pieces on the website that I'm looking through don't fit my age (23).

Any thoughts on this?
