When is the Next Brooks Brothers Sale? - Page 222

Or are they excluded from all sales in general?

Now is the best time to purchase Peal shoes (25% off plus 15% kicker).  I think the confusion is in part due to how BB communicated the prices to the SA's.  My SA has been doing this for 20 plus years and said the communication was so confusing he still wasn't sure what the discounts were but suspected we would see the usual discounts.

+1 on the wingtips and captoe.  Definitely C&J.  I think the loafer is as well, but not sure.

Actually you can't infer that from my statement. I am saying that all of the C&J Peals I have handled have had the block font. I can not say for certain whether all of the block font shoes I have handled have been C&J.

I use a combination of indicators to determine whether a shoe is C&J: font, type of marking inside the shoe, and last number. Since BB doesn't show photos of the inside wall markings, which include last number, then being able to handle the shoes makes ID much easier. Look for the last number inside the shoe and check it against the C&J numbers. 240 is common but there are others. The C&J shoes use handwritten markings on the inside while the others usually have numbers and letters. And to clarify, I wouldn't swear that all non C&J shoes have machine printed size/stock #/last info, but that may be the case.

It is my opinion that having a C&J last number is the most accurate single indicator of a C&J Peal shoe.

I'm not sure if this is relevant to C&J for BB, but the C&J made for Barney's lately have machine printed size/stock and do not have the last info.

Peal & Co included; have started putting shoes aside for boxing day.

In relation to the 40% off 4 shirts, can you stack this with the 2 for $259 for the Egyptian cotton shirts? 4 shirts for $518 and then the 40% discount?

That sounds like a Brooks Buy. Those deals may not be valid on the day of the sale.

Gotcha. Thanks!

I have been working for past year, and communication in regards to sales is very confusing. I guess they are trying to prevent information spillage, in order not to cannibalize the sales prior to sale.
Actually, this thread made me triple-check with my manager, and she confirmed that it in Canada it will be flat 40% off regular price, and boxing day additional 15% off. BrooksBuy, EDVs are not valid for period of sale. So the discount will be strictly off the regular price.

However, if you walk in into local BB shop any of the Sales Associates would be happy to help you out.

Are you saying that a sales associate can give the 40% + 15% discount to any customer that comes in and asks for it?

I may be picking up a C&J wingtip or cap toe. Problem is I don't want to be out shopping. I'll be at home with my family. I would love it if anyone could confirm which styles are definitely C&J online? The previous post about the text and the last number on the inside is great, but is still hard to confirm online.
Are any of these for sure C&J? They all appear to have blocky text.

Those all all C&J. Black Fleece has the best c&j loafer though, a dark brown with hints of burgundy

Man...BB Sales Associates get upset when you return merchandise bought online to the store!! She may have been more upset that the online store has better sales than the B&M.

Yeah. Just be smart about it.
Just say that your friend shops with BB, and his SA called him and offered that.
Then kindly ask SA if he could do the same for you. But to be honest, you gotta make it worth his while.
If you are just going to buy a shirt and tie, I doubt he will agree.

That happens. But it's an individual characteristics of a person, rather than of BB.
I as a matter of fact I like online returns. Most of the time it is due to a wrong size.
Once you solve the sizing issue for them, you pocket the sale.
If you provide excellent customer service, you get a loyal client, that rather deal with you, than with computer.

Can someone confirm that the Boxing Day sales do not apply to items that are already on sale?
I've noticed that BB Canada prices are slowly starting to make their way to parity with US prices (but not completely). CJ double monks had a base price that were $100 higher in Canada a few months ago. That has shrunk to a $60 price differential when I took a look this week.

It's a start, but more needs to be done.

I always enjoy watching Dec 26 (or Boxing Day) mad rush sales at my local BB; I can tell just by listening who the SF members/lurkers are..my trusted SA always comment like "do you know these guys, are they part of the insider group? see you all icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
