Yeah couldn't resist at 280 with tax shipped. Just spent essentially half my paycheck on shoes this month :/

yup its easy for me to blow really easy. I know my measure specilist and he knows how I like to wear my clothes. I dare not test waters with others becuase they will just fck it up and to start over with them its annoying. I walk in and pick my fabric out and I walk out after paying 50% up front and when I get it I know how it fits and thats that......

 

I can experiemtn over and over with others, but that costs time and to me time is money.....I have established myself with him and brookes and im happy......

 

As you get older son you will understand the importance of customer service, how to build up a relationship with people, and understand time is money.....

This september will come the F&F sale, right?

Will he also understand the importance of spelling and punctuation?

Where are you guys seeing Conistons on sale? The only boots I'm seeing that resemble C&J Conistons are listed for $998.

Why does Brooks Brothers constantly post things I want in the sales list, and then tell me they are OOS and continue to display them?

Yesterday was the second time they've fooled me on Milanos.

How low do these go after Christmas? And 240 last fits TTS?

Picked up some Milano chinos from the clearance sale. What size hem opening do they have?

Mine measure 8 3/4 (17 1/2). I think a 8 1/4 or 8 1/2 looks better. Picked up three pair for 38.00 each

 

Thanks, maybe there will come a day when we are standing side by side at the BB register where you are paying $130 for your BB non-iron shirt and I am paying $50 for the exact same shirt.  Would love to hear more from you on the value of time and money.  

 

In all seriousness, if you're happy . . you're happy, but there really are better options out there for your $130 per shirt if you want MTM.  Fear of the unknown should not dissuade you from branching out and experimenting.

 

I can see the appeal of a $130 MTM BB shirt if it fits him well. To get the same fit off the rack he'd probably have to spend $25 with an alterationist, plus the time and hassle of making two visits to drop off and pick up. Assuming he's paying retail (yeah I know, big assumption), $80 + 25 = $105. So BB MTM is costing him an extra $25, not that big of a deal.

 

Trying out a new MTM service always takes a couple tries to get it right. Depending on their policy, at best it'll take you a couple of weeks/months and fittings to get a shirt, and at worst you're stuck paying for a couple of useless shirts that don't fit you. I finally found a MTM place that got my measurements down well and it would take a lot to get me to switch because it's such an ordeal.

 

That being said, I don't think BB would be my first choice for MTM if I was just starting out.

I have been using BB MTM for shirts for a few years now. It costs me about what iamanewbie is paying and I am very happy with the quality and the service. Could I get it cheaper online somewhere else? Maybe, but the BB associate treats me good and lets me know when sales are coming up and has held things in my size for me in the past. He also lets me stack my corporate discount. Sometimes building a business relationship with someone over time is a good thing.
