When is the Next Brooks Brothers Sale? - Page 99

http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=494&Product_Id=1455792&Parent_Id=305&default_color=BLACK&sort_by=&sectioncolor=&sectionsize=10-1/2%20D#null

The Q&A says these are C&J?

Is that true?

Also any idea on who makes this? Alden?

The answer in the Q&A which states that C&J makes the shoe was given by Brooks Brothers.

The linked description of the second shoe includes "Imported", so I'm going out on a limb here and saying that Alden is not the maker.

The corporate discount sale was great. I was able to pick up 2 cordovan belts and 2 pairs of cordovan shoes. I combined that with a BB card for an additional 15% off= 45% off! The next event is at the end of the month a preferred card holders sale at 25% off, I believe. Good luck!

Wow, that is a great price for C&Js. $243?!

How'd you get them to apply the 30% to cordovan? Tried at the Stanford store and they said no, called another store and got the same response.

Well wasn't the consensus the lightweight model (at least the brogue) was Loake? Tempted to order but don't know if it really is C&J or not and you can't see the heel layout.

You're probably right, seems to be too good to be true for C&J's.

There were several threads on those lightweight Peals in the past on SF and most seem to think they are Loake's.

I have a pair of Black Fleece Spectator Longwings which were made by Grenson. No idea if they're the same maker as those black ones.

And several people in those threads that had ordered the shoe and returned it due to dissatisfaction with the quality.

That's good to know too.

Seems like they're doing the 3 dress shirt for $199 deal on all-cotton dress shirts again.

I just bought two all cotton oxfords and one dress shirts.

look really closely at my picture of the shoes
do you notice a ... sort of dimpling in the stitching by the laces?
it's there on both shoes, on the inside of the foot
at first i thought this was a defect and i was going to return it to BB ...
but when i looked at the pictures on their website, even those shoes have the same flaw

they are out of my size online and stock is getting low at other stores ... i had mine transferred from another location
the dimpling or whatever does not show because they are covered by the pants
and besides, no one inspects the shoes up close so i can live with it
but i wonder why the shoes have this issue to begin with

That is where the tongue is stitched to the quarter.

Several OCBD and two pair of Peal & Co. punched cap toes. I had planned on buying only the brown, but with the 30% off, I went for both.

The 240 last is wider than I am used to. I wore one of the pairs of shoes for a day and decided I needed a narrower shoe, so I exchanged the 11.5Ds for 11.5Cs. They are a perfect fit now and I am very happy with the shoes.
