overarching thought: It’s funny that this thread has been dormant for almost a year, considering that the answer to the thread title is now, “pretty much always”

To the specific-point above, I think the casual cotton trousers are now “Clark” fit, which is pretty straight and slim, close (maybe slightly less slim than my j crew 770s)

PSA: There’s definitely a sale on

Also please note: DON’T USE AMAZON PAY! if you think you might want to place a return in-store!

It's particularly funny that it has been dormant a year with the Drake's thread getting 6-10 posts a day.

With the Brooks..Sale thread dormant for years, I actually have a post from a Brooks sale this week!

I like Brooks’ provenance, impact, and significance in American menswear and will be inclined towards the brand when it is a toss-up on quality. Their quality has, as often noted on SF, declined significantly over the years.

I got two pairs of pajamas and three shirts. I find pajamas a very solid staple from Brooks that stacks up well with my competitive purchase set.

Of the three shirts, one was a straightforward checked flannel, one a flannel university stripe, and one a plaid “no iron” shirt. The flannel university stripe dresses down that style.

The no iron was interesting. The hand is inferior to all cotton, and I iron them anyway. The sized collar and cuffs on Brooks’ Milano fit is maybe the best off the rack fit I’ve had though.

I was astonished when a SA told me 90% of their shirt sales were no iron, since the “Platonic”, remembered Brooks shirt is the 100% cotton MIUSA OCBD:

I was very pleased with the shirts. I get most of my shirts MTM from Kamakura. I consider both those and the Brooks sales shirts (@ 40-% + off) good value at different price points.
