My story in today's WSJ re: a problem without an easy solution - yellow armpit stains on shirts ---http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703859304576305372447004628.html?mod=WSJ_hp_mostpop_emailed

I thought that the solution was pretty easy - don't use an anti-perspirant with aluminium in it, but instead simply use a deodorant.

I heard to avoid the yellow you hang dry your clothing and the stains wouldn't develop. Not sure if its true...

It's possible that the Op, like me, lives in an environment and/or has a body type that requires an anti-perspirant.

In other threads it has been suggested that you use it at night before you go to bed and don't put any on in the morning. I've tried it with some success, but I just can't get into the habit regularly.

Ray, this is great.

Does your article encompass the Journal's comprehensive understanding of yellow stains in clothing, or just under the arms?

I had the same problem until I switched to Menscience Advanced Deodorant...no yellow stains or odor. Sharps also makes a good deodorant.

Oxyclean takes out the stains on white t-shirts; cannot testify how it does on colors.

Not if you line the pits with it.

Need thicker tape, to conserve tape. Use packing tape, duct tape is too sticky.
