Just got an e-mail from Laurie, Art's widow (and the woman responsible for the release of some of his best live work): a 4-disc set from a performance at Ronnie Scott's in 1980 is coming out next month. 25 tracks of music=

Tracklist is very promising.

One time I sent her a drunken, rambling e-mail about how much Art's music means to me, and she was very flattered and we had a nice chain of conversation.

I thought from the thread title he'd been resurrected.

Still, should be a good collection

I just ordered this, I had forgotten about it. Will post a review.

In the meantime I've been listening to this cut of "Red Car" from a 1980 show in Seattle. Laurie Pepper has been digitizing her cassettes (I think she recorded every concert) and has been posting some extraordinary performances. This is a super-funky song, and pianist Milcho Leviev turns in one of the best solos I've heard in a while. Really worth a listen....and do it soon, because she only leaves these up for a couple of weeks before posting a new track.
