Testosterone Gel

I saw on Dr Oz the other day that if you are low on testosterone you could rub a gel on your body that has testosterone in it. I googled it tonight and found Androgel. Just wondering if anyone has tried a prescription Testosterone gel and how it worked for you? Btw, I don't feel like I'm necessarily low on Testosterone but I wouldn't mind more either.

You don't want to take test if you don't need it, it will permanently fuck up your natural production.

You might try getting a little bit of sun now that spring is here. Or supplement with vitamin D3. Have read a few times of people raising test. levels this way. "Vitamin D and Testosterone: Another "Fountain of Youth" Find" http://hearthawk.blogspot.com/2008/0...e-another.html & From Dr. Cannell's sight: http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/newsl...-edition.shtml about half way down the article:
Quote:
know of no studies measuring male libido and vitamin D but Dr. Wehr and colleagues, at the Medical University of Graz in Austria, just published a surprising study showing that testosterone levels are directly associated with vitamin D levels (measured with the DiaSorin technique) and testosterone levels vary with the seasons, in concert with vitamin D levels. Furthermore, the men with very low testosterone levels had very low vitamin D levels. This study does not prove, like any association study, that vitamin D increases testosterone levels. It may be that sun exposure in the summer is responsible for both higher vitamin D levels and higher testosterone levels.

In some cases, yes; ask a certain member of this board.

To OP: get off 3x a day and watch porn. It's the all natural way.

My brother takes it because he does have low T due to diabetes. It works for him by improving his mood and giving him more energy. It doesn't make you jacked or super strong. It's a much lower dose than people who do steriods illegally get. It's a scheduled drug so good luck getting it on the black market.

The problem is that most docs prescribe a pathetically low dose. Just enough to shut down your natural production, yet not enough to experience any real benefits.

Another problem is that most docs don't know enough to moniter estrogen and other markers, which external test has a tendency to raise. You can be at 1200 ng/dl with your test, but if E2 is high you will still feel like shit.

If you want to go the legal route, the anti-aging clinics are probably the best bet. Those docs actually know what they're doing and are less hesitant to get you to the high end of the range.

It's kind of pandora's box, though. Do bother going on the juice unless you plan to continue it the rest of your days.

Oh, and the gel is shit. Imprecise, and can really screw up a female if she gets in contact with it. Use a needle.

if you are taking proper ancillaries you will never have these problems. lets just say i know quite a few people with experience that get their hormone levels checked regularly and have never had a problem. edit: intramuscular not the gel bs

Can anyone explain to me why this is the case? I've always thought they draw your blood just like they draw your blood for a CHEM test. Is there a feedback mechanism I'm not aware of?

I think you're confused by the wording. He didn't say "you don't want to take the test...;" he said "you don't want to take test[osterone]" if you don't need it. There is no harm in the physical act of being tested.
